I am leading a national conference April 1-April 5th and then leading for my yearly trip to Ghana. I would like to be thinner for both and have been trying to decide what I think a reasonable goal would be. April 1st is 70 days away - essentially 2 months and change so I am thinking maybe 22 lbs (which would put me at 164!!) is a good goal. I haven't been that thin since 15 years ago, can't even imagine what it would feel like but I imagine cycling would be easier and clothes would fit better. I like that goal and that motivation - what you you motivating for?

I like the white pants as motivation. My current motivation is looking good in my new swimsuit on vacation in Belize next week. I will try to post some pics when I get back!

My motivation right now is a pair of white pants I bought several months ago. When I first bought them, I couldn't pull them all the way up. Now I can pull them up and zip them...but then I can't breathe or move. So that's it. Wearing those pants while breathing and moving at the same time.

ok made it through the 220s into the 210s (currently 213) - now I just want to get into the 200s. would like to be under 210 well before the end of the month - trying to stay motivated with all the treats is hard (but doable!)

My motivation this month is seeing the end of the 220s! I don't weigh in again until November 14th but I fully expect to see something in the 210s and that will be exciting - even if it is just 219... I haven't been below 215 in over a year so this will be awesome!

Well, I have been trying to get motivated for two years to get the grad school weight off. A month ago, an ex-boyfriend who had been searching for me for five years, found me via the Internet. Our reunion is 176 days from today. I am motivated to be the best that I can be by that day, being consistent and of course realistic about what I can do. Wish me luck!

Motivation this month includes getting off as much weight as possible before I leave for Ghana on April 12th. It is really hot there in April and I would like to go 10lbs less than where I am today....sometimes it is just simple motivations!

I was 40 years old when I had my son. I said that I wanted to be able to out-run him when I am 50 and he is 10. In 2007 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Follicular Lymphoma. I've had no sign of the disease for 3 years now. So my motivation is to be healthy and live to see my son grow up. I want to grow old with my wonderful husband, too.

Spunky,
I just read your blog and I want in. My motivation is:
I woke up this morning feeling sorry for myself, headachey & tired. I've been using that excuse not to exercise for a few days and I'm tired of it.

I use goal setting to motivate me and I haven't had anything big going for awhile. I've run a marathon, riden my bike from Houston to Austin TX and lost weight.

My pants are feeling tight AND I'm going on a cruise in Sept. and I want to feel slimmer and healthier in my body before I leave. Soooo.

Today will be day one Aug. 4th.

Most people don't know that there are angels who's only job it is to make sure you don't get too comfortable and fall asleep and miss your life.

My main motivation is health. I come from a very long line of overweight people who have miraculously all lived fairly long lives. However, the quality of their lives is questionable (lack of energy, depression, high blood pressure & diabetes). I don't want to live that life.

I have the world's best husband and 2 fantastic kids and I feel like my weight is the only thing stopping me from reaching my full potential. I want to set an example for my kids and I want to be fit throughout my life. And of course, this is shallow, but I want to wear stylish clothes and look good in them!

My Motivation is the satisfaction I am going to have being Healthier, Stronger, Fitter, and have lots of vitality. The person who has motivated is an American, called Paul Bragg, died in his nineties, in an accident out water skiing. Even in his nineties his daily affirmation was: health, strength, YOUTH and vitality and he was such an inspiration. I'd like to be like him.

And being as healthy, fit and energetic as I can be.
Feeling comfortable and healthy with myself!
Avoiding medical issues later. Not being "obese" or "overweight". Looking super hot in/at weddings this summer! Feeling great, looking great, and knowing my body is becoming awesomely healthy, while I achieve every challenge in my path ; )

Exercising every day takes a lot of time and definitely takes commitment, but it gives so much! If I start my day with a workout, I am almost sure to stay within my calorie range that day, to think well of myself, and to have a good day overall. It'S SOOO worth it!
For this challenge my motivation is to achieve these things with the help of my (usually) early morning workout:
- to acquire, to learn the habit of doing the right thing instead of giving up on myself and choosing food to deal with every negative emotion
- to free myself from the prison of being overweight and hating my body and comparing myself to others, to simply reach a healthy weight and keep it and stop fretting about my looks and in turn - start living my life!
- to have a lot of energy and positive attitude
- to finally be DONE with being the fat, unattractive friend and become a sexy chick before I turn 29:-)
- hmm, I think that freedom from hating my body, freedom to concentrate on living and on being with people, giving myself to them, feeling happy - that is my biggest motivation

My motivation comes from the support and encouragement I get here at Spark. It comes from my increased energy levels and watching the numbers get smaller on the scale!

My motivation began because I just wanted to look better and feel better about myself. As the journey has progressed, I am more motivated to continue working towards a healthier lifestyle, and the benefits of people noticing the changes has really kept me on track. I continue to be motivated by all my Spark buddies, and my co-workers who have joined me on this journey towards a healthier lifestyle.

My motivations:

1. To feel better.
2. To look better.
3. To be able to do more - and lose my limitations.

I'm going to work on breaking these down to be more tangible and "do-able".

On my page I say I want to be a normal weight and I'll know it when I see it. I'm sticking with that one.
