Failed at this challenge team. After circuit training this week, I just could not bring myself to do the ARC machine. I enjoyed the extra time at home with my hubby instead. We actually were able to eat dinner together (as gym time is often his dinner time) so maybe there was a different type of challenge I met:)

Well I skipped the elliptical today since my legs are so sore. Instead I walked alot during lunch. I also needed to grocery shop for the weekend, so I circled Walmart a few times, then came home and relaxed, cleaned some too.

I'm looking forward to the weekend and warm temps. I can't wait to get outside in the warmth and sunshine, to walk. However, we've recently spotted, on the deer cam, a wild boar hog on our property, so now I'm a bit concerned if there is one, there's more. And I don't think I'll be taking the pups along either. It's big, gross, and creepy!

Oops! Late start here. Better late than never?! :)

I will add one pound of weights to all my circuit training exercises on my strength training days, and I will also do every exercise at least twice every ST day this week. On my cardio days, I will add an extra 10 minutes of walking on the treadmill.

Tues 12 (ST) -- Did well today! Not sure about weights, because my written-down info is at the gym, and I'm at work. Did do a couple of exercises with heavier weights than normal. Treadmill = 35 min, circuit training = 22 min. Wanted to do more walking after circuit training, but my legs were Jello!

Wed 13 --

Thurs 14 (ST) --

Fri 15 --

Sat 16 (ST) --

Great challenge idea! A friend of mine just introduced me to the ARC trainer. Guess that will be my challenge this week. I think I last ten minutes yesterday. So this week instead of the stepper I will use the ARC trainer.

This week we will focus on progressive exercise.

The way it works: You choose an area of exercise you are struggling with or need improvement on. Something that will truly challenge you. Then each day, you’ll add more reps, steps, miles, minutes, or laps, etc, to that specific exercise, with a goal of improvement and increased stamina by the end of the week.

1. Identify which exercise you will work on this week, one that will truly challenge you.

2. State your starting point: Example: 5 reps each arm, .25 mile, 3 miles, 500 steps, 3 laps, 10 crunches, or 10 min, etc. Be realistic based on your abilities.

3. State the number of increments you’ll add each day: Example: 5 more reps, 1 lap, 2 minutes, 10 crunches, a mile, .10 of a mil, or 25 steps, 1000 steps, etc. Adjust along the way if necessary.

4. Share with us daily how you’ve improved. Did you meet or exceed your expectations?

Choose whatever works for you, for your personal fitness level. Be sure it will challenge you. If it’s something you are already doing, it isn’t a challenge. This is a great time to try something you’ve been meaning to begin or improve on, or maybe even something new.
