I went to the gym for 4 hours.... 45 minutes of it was cardio which would blow away jumping jacks for one minute! WootWoot!!

Way to go everybody!

Catlady, great job on those squats! We have a Valentine themed challenge for next week, but if you are loving this one, Catlady keep on going with it. Challenging ourselves is such a great motivator and I'd love to hear how you do with it. I'm going to keep going with the 1 minute in the morning because I have found it really gets me going in the mornings.

Walking_Wonder, I love that the challenge encouraged you to try a new workout! It's actually very good to switch them up every few weeks to give the body a change from what becomes routine for it, so well done.

Joette, I love the story...it is funny how things go some times, but way to get to a personal best!

Today was squats and I hit my best also with 33 in 60 seconds.

I didn't post yesterday, but I did my push ups. Funny story goes with them.

I told my husband "I am supposed to do my push-ups for the challenge this week, I have an achy low back and am just not feeling it. I am going to skip them today, give myself a rest day." Then went to my calendar to see what strength training day I was on. Next noise I hear escape my mouth "NOOOooooo! Funny God, you have a very funny sense of humor!" You guessed it.. Push up day!

Imagine my tickled pink self when I beat my best of 18 by doing 20! :)

I did 15 full push-ups today. Down from 18 but still better than my first day of 13.

My thighs still get a little weak but I am increasing my speed and getting in my reps each time. Good challenge!!!

Wow, great fitness everybody!! Yeah, Keli, I couldn't do squats again today, so I did pushups. I'll alternate days between pushups and squats. My upper body is so weak! I only got 22 done in the minute.

I did my squats again today. I got in 28 again in 60 secs. My thighs are a little weak today but I hung in there and completed the whole 60 seconds.

Yesterday - did a 60 second burst at my top speed on the elliptical
This morning - did 10 minutes on the elliptical with a 60 second burst of speed.

I chose chair push ups. I started out, and then my chair started moving, so I had to change chairs. I was able to get 19 with the interruption.

I tried squats again today, that was painful from yesterday's squats, so I did what I could stand then did toe touches, and some stretching.

I'll continue working on squats, and build up endurance. Guess I don't use those muscles much!

Oh my!!! What a challenge. I didn't sign on until late this evening. When I saw this challenge I thought I'd pick something I can do easy and just add to what I already do, then I thought about it and it wouldn't be much of a challenge if I did that so here goes.... squats are still difficult for me to do. I only started trying them a week ago. So tonight I did 28 squats in 60 secs. That will be my challenge this week. I won't be able to do it first thing in the morning but I will complete my 60 second challenge. Wish me luck!!!!!

I recently reached a goal of doing 100 modified push-ups. This challenge is going to help me take the next step.. Full push-ups.

Day one - 13 push-ups. Not as close to the ground as I expected from myself. Trying to decide now, if my personal best is going to be increased numbers at this quality, or go for better quality

I decided to go with squats, since I've been avoiding them due to arthritis in my hip & knees.

18, which is miserable, but three more than I thought I'd get when I started.

I will do a minute every morning on my balance board. I need to get my balance back. Once I do, there are exercises that I can do on the balance board that I would like to try.

Great to see you guys have found an exercise to challenge you! This morning I did squats, funny how I start out strong but slow down as the minute goes on, you don't always realize how looong a minute can be! lol

I got 27 squats done in my minute this morning.

Do you have a mere 60 seconds to spare in the morning? In one quick minute first thing in the morning you can get the blood pumping and give your metabolism a kick start. As part of this challenge we’re going to challenge ourselves to beat our best each day. Don't worry if you can't do this first thing in the morning, fit this one minute challenge into a time that works best for you either on it's own or as part of your workout.

1. First pick your favorite exercise that you can give your all to for one minute. Something like jumping jacks, marching or running in place, step ups, jumps, squats, push-ups, etc. You only need to choose one, but feel free to add to that if you want to turn this into a longer workout.

2. With as much energy as you can start doing your exercise of choice and do it for 60 seconds, be sure to count the number of repetitions you do.

3. Be sure to come here and report your accomplishment, goal is to improve your personal best each day, while kick starting the day with a quick burst of energy.

To give freely without expectation is a true gift.
