A dental issue has kept me down this week a bit, but I've got some activity in every day. I've been doing the seated cardio (11 minutes) as well as yoga stretching (10 minutes) every day, plus yesterday we had a half hour walk on top of it...

Friday - I added 10 minutes first thing in the morning, with a 10-minute (okay it was 12 minutes) clip from a Leslie Sansone video on Hulu.

As a side note, I'll do a quick review on the video... I'm always hearing people talk about Leslie Sansone, so I thought I'd try it out. I can't say that I would ever make her videos the centerpiece of my fitness plan but I thought it was a nice gentle way to get the day started. There was nothing I couldn't do because my muscles were just waking up. I could do it in my pajamas without having to put a sports bra on first thing in the morning. This was actually the ideal morning warmup or off-day activity (especially if you can't go outside for a walk where you live). I also think it would be a great workout for someone just getting started in fitness. It's not intimidating, and Leslie herself is great. She gave good cues and was motivating without being too cutesy. I'll probably continue using these videos as an active way to start my day (I'm generally an evening exerciser), but it's probably not intense enough to be the main workout for those with more exercise experience.

1/3 I got in 88 minutes comprising of an 18 minute walk, 8-Minute Athletic Intervals Cardio Workout, a 10 minute Bootcamp Workout and 53 minutes of housework.

Wednesday - I added 10 extra minutes of stretching after my run. Over the holidays I started to skimp on that to save time. I could really feel it.
Thursday - I was planning to sit on my behind on the couch to watch Big Bang Theory, so I spent the first 10 minutes of the show doing an improvised, light cardio session... marching in place, grapevines, jumping jacks, etc.

20 min - Tonight I tried a new and fun DVD, by Dr. Lisa and her friend. It was nice for a change, doing different moves, with quite a bit of stretching, and yoga moves, some dance moves too! I tried all 3 segments, and only did about 20 min, but had to watch and learn too. I look forward to getting all 3 segments down, and having fun!

1/2/13 I did the day 4 bootcamp video from the 28 day Bootcamp twice for a total of 14 minutes and got in an additional 37 minutes of activity around the house based on my fitbit. (I take the fitbit off when I do the videos.). I haven't been feeling great today but I feel better knowing that I worked out!

I've been gone from Spark and teams for quite a bit, and am just getting back into it. I'm glad to step up for this challenge!

Sunday - about 15 minutes of wrestling with furniture, trying to get the house organized after Christmas...

Monday - 30 minutes or so, playing with my almost 2-year old niece. She wears me out! lol

December 31--I joined the January jumpstart challenge team. I did 20 minutes of cardio. I still have to do 10 minutes. Again, I haven't done grocery shopping yet today. Why am I so unmotivated?

I am definitely going to do this. I've been active for quite sometime and have become sedentary lately. I plan to get in at least 30 mins per day to start, even if done in segments, so 10 minutes minimum is an excellent goal for me to get me "up and running."
I've been retired for about 6 years and had pledged not to stop exercising and had done well until a few months ago. Time to get started once again. I love doing Leslie Sansone "Walk At Home" DVD's.

I always get at least 20 mins exercise. I was hoping to push for an extra ten each day this week. I got 25 last night, forgot about pushing for more... Got my exercise in late night, we had gone to dinner and visited with friends. I didn't get home til 10:30. It became one of those days where I just did my time... But I did lose track at the end for a few minutes and got 5 extra. Was exhausted and ready for bed.

I'm really excited about doing the ten minutes a day as a minimum. When I was reading the Spark book I did that but became less consistant. It is going to be a new spreak for January

10 Minutes Exercise Challenge

Our challenge this week is simple - you need to do AT LEAST 10 MINUTES exercise every day. It doesn't matter what you do - walking, heavy cleaning, strength, zumba - just do something! If you already exercise regularly you may want to challenge yourself to do an EXTRA 10 minutes.

And yes you need to exercise on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day - it's only 10 minutes!!
