Hi All! I am home from my hike/cache trip with Bob , I had a great time found many cache's Bob is teaching me how to use the portalbe GPS. We were sitting by a river and drinking water as we were wending our way back towards where the car was parked and we heard a big splash ! ALIGATOR! We did not see him but were sure he was checking us out. We saw lovely butterflies including a pink one ( I had never seen a pink butterfly before ) a great blue heron ( he yelled at us I think we were too close to his nest and lots of gopher tortise holes. Was a beautiful quiet day. I burned 1010 calories in 4 hours of hiking per my heart monitor. The food was great. Bob loved his treat ( the dark snickers bar ) and ate the swiss and tortilla ( he laughed and said I eat too healthy, he likes vegetarian junk food ). I am starving now and am warming up some leftover chicken. I have a call out to Lisa to see how she is and if we are planning on kayaking tomorrow. it is supposed to be hotter tomorrow before the cold front comes in and brings us rain and little cooler weather for a couple of days but not cold weather. It will be 80 for Christmas eve and Christmas day again. Hi Lorra, glad you got to work safely and will be safe tonight and tomorrow. Good idea for staying near work tonight. Hope you rest well. Hi Marcia! pj

Good afternoon/evening everyone. Sounds like everyone is having a winterland adventure today, even in the subtropics with kayaking this weekend! My sweetheart brought me into work today in his 4x4 nice in easy we made the 45 minute trek and both of us will be staying in town tonight right off the hospital so we don't have to try and be driving out in the storm that's starting to come. Ice and snow everywhere. A little sore in my thighs and abs from yesterdays workout but it's the kind of sore I like, reminds me that I have muscles working! Keeping up my water intake today and tracking all my food. Days almost half way over and it will be nice to not have to get up so early tomorrow morning since I am already here at work! Stay safe and warm those of you who are getting snow! Have a great trip PJ if you get to get out and kayak, sounds fun! Also I think you'd be a great additional leader to the group! I just became co-leader to one of my groups as well since the original leader has not been active in a few months. It's kind of been a sleepy group lately so I am trying to stir up some conversation and hope tha perhaps once the holidays are over with more people will get more active since it'll be a new year and new resolutions for health for some. Take care everyone and ttyl!

Hi all! I have yet to leave for my hiking/caching day with Bob. I didn't go to spin because last night he said he wanted to be on our way by 11am well it is almost 11;30 am and I have not heard from him in the last hour. An hour ago , I had just gotten home from the gym and the grocery store ( I had picked up some things to make a totable picnic lunch for us ), saying that his sister who will be here tomorrow had called and they had talked for 45 minutes and he had not even showered yet. LOL I thought Women were supposed to be the ones men waited on. Anyway I got reduced fat cream cheese and made a veggie spread with poblano chili, carott, red sweet pepper, green onion whipped in it then spread ww high fiber tortillas with it and sliced some tomato and rolled it and cut it and put into baggies. I spread PB on the same kind of tortilla and rolled them and cut them in half. did the same thing with swiss cheese and various baby lettuces and used the spread as a dressing ( it is spicy ) packed red grapes, granny smith apple slices, and tangerines for the day. I also got Bob a dark chocolate Snickers bar ( his favorite ) as a treat for him, he said just the other day he never sees them anymore so I saw them today and got one for him. I don't think we will starve. He is vegetarian but he is more of what I call a 'carbotaraian' he doesn't eat meat but he loves cheese and breads and sweets, including fruit, he doesn't eat many veggies that I love like the greens so I don't know if he will go for the veggie rolls so that is why I packed the PB ones. I did Sue's ball class today I am still so weak it is frustrating, weak in endurance, I lose my breath so fast. 10 weeks post op on Monday and still gasping when I do squats with dumbells or lunges with dumbells like we did today.
Hi Marcia! Hi Kari ( have fun at your party) I was up at 6am just slow in getting dressed and ready today. Hi Donna Thank you for the encouragement on the leader thing, just depends on who the powers that be choose. This is a huge group so I am at a loss at how to be a good leader for such a huge group not the ones who check in here but there are tons of people who belong to the group who do not check in. The leader asked for people to volunteer before I went into surgery and I didn't at that time because I knew I wouldn't be around or real active for awhile while I was in recovery. WTG on leading your group. Hi Jennifer, you are so cute. Have fun with the kids, sounds like a great time. Oh yeah I have burned 500 calories so far today between the ball class and riding my bike to and form the gym. will burn more today hiking. It is hot here and I have to wear Jeans and a long sleeve shirt because we are hiking in trees and brush and don't want to get cut up but I am going to be HOT!!! Have a great Saturday all! STay warm and safe! pj

Good morning! We're digging out of 9 inches of snow, with more coming tomorrow. (PJ, I am sooooooooooo jealous of 80 degree weather!!!)
PJ, I also just became a co-leader on another group, that had no active leader any more. I don't know what I'm doing either, so don't feel so bad. You are a far better leader than I am - you're doing great. All this time, I thought you WERE the leader here!! I decided that since I just took it over on my group, I'd wait until after the holidays to try and get everyone active there again. Good luck to both of us!
Im trying to finish all the wrapping today......our daughter from Kentucky is on her way up for the holiday. I need to really hustle and get things in order and everything done so I can enjoy their visit.
I'm up and at 'em this morning! I have so much to do. Instead of teaching class the Sunday before Christmas we do activities with the kids. I have to admit, it's a lot of fun. We're going to make a gift for parents, decorate cup cakes, make a reindeer candy cane, and make a little book about what candy canes mean in the light of Christmas. I'm so excited! I feel like a little kid myself.
Have fun with your first Christmas party Kari. I'm not looking forward to hitting that first party yet. I have a lot of family who like to cause problems instead of just rejoicing in what this season is all about. Have a great time!
PJ, I think you would be an awesome leader for this team. I don't know anyone who puts so much into their exercise regime. I say go for it! It sounds so strange to hear someone say they are going kayaking to me while I look outside at the winter wonder land. I'm already ready for the summer.
I have to get in the shower and balance the checkbook before I can get out the door....... BBL

Good morning PJ. I was sure you'd have already been here.
We have the first family Christmas and our niece's birthday party today so I won't be around again until late. Need to go find something decent for breakfast since it's the one meal today I am in control of!

Good Morning All! I slept well 8 hours, I will go to the ball class this morning and then home without doing the spin class I am going hiking with Bob today. Lisa stood up at the dinner table at her mom's last night and hit her head on the hangling glass candelabra and broke it and might have concussed herself, she was in a lot of pain last night and her neck was hurting as well so if we go kayaking this weekend it will be tomorrow. It is to be 80 again today down here with wall to wall sunshine. Have a great day all! pj I put in a thing to be a co leader of this team today since we don't have one right now , am not sure what a leader does but if any of you want to do that too your help and suggestions would be great!
