Thank you Lady Di, a great answer. I walk and do Curves for my exercise. We can all over do any thing to excess and I think this is what he did. I am so glad we got another response to this.
I hope others on this team will do the same.
Take care.

I saw this one too. I do Crossfit and rhabdomyolsis is very real. Good coaches are constantly on the lookout to be sure that their people are not subject to this. It literally is exercising a particular muscle or muscle group so much that it breaks down the muscle tissue. The waste product of that breakdown circulating in your system is what clogs up the kidneys. Can usually be handled with hospitalization and a lot of fluids to flush the system. But the recovery is long, and the muscles involved are trashed for quite some time. One of the worst culprits is doing exactly what he did - a ton of pull ups.
Hoping he is on the mend and home soon.

Here is what I think about this article. Until they come up with very real proof that this exercise caused his CKD, I don't believe this is what caused it. My personal thinking is that he already had CKD and didn't know it. And the strain of all the exercise and the length of time he put in this, caused his body to go into a shock.
There are so many people who have CKD and don't know it. I My self was one of these people along with hundreds of others.
