Hello,

Went for a 30 minute walk. Didn't get much done but some weeding yesterday. Will do some more walking when I get to my second job tonight.

How is everyone coming along, bootcamp babes? I have done an hour or more on 6 out of the last 9 days. The other 3, I got in 30 min, so I'm making progress...

Hey Jancat! I am just now playing catchup from my vacation and lack of motivation days. Boot camp sounds great! Think about the exercises that you CAN do at work. Like, Calf raises at your chair or a few squats and leg lifts at your desk. Everyone needs a few minute break now and then. Morning, afternoon, evening - doesn't matter if you split it up, it matters that you do it. I am going to try to do a mini bootcamp myself. 1 minute of 5 exercises a day - the ones that I don't like that help a lot like crunches, squats, lunges. I will also try to walk at least 15 inutes in the morning and in the afternoon now that the weather is getting nicer.

Keep up the good work and let us know how you are doing!

If you *do the work*, it is never cheating!

Besides, you didn't think they stopped working by afternoon at boot camp, did you? Those babies work their tails off!

Seriously, this sounds great. I am going to take a trip at the end of the month, and I want to make a mini-goal to cover the span of time between now and Sep 26, my departure date.

Exercise daily, preferably 45 or more min, yes. I mainly do stepwork and a little with handweights.

I need to figure out some exercises I can do indoors, because I live in an old (well over 60 years, we think closer to 80 or 90 years) house that won't take a lot of jumping around. One bit of floor already gave out due to rain-soaking, so I don't want to test it and end up in my basement!

It would just be a makeshift, in case of rain or extreme heat. If it is fine, even in some amount of heat, I either do step, or walk, and that takes care of it.

What do you think? Any suggestions MUCH appreciated!

PS: Now that I think about it, I can do treadmill and elliptical and recumbent bike when I get to Mom's house (my trip destination)! Cool, that'll cover another 2 weeks. When is the 6 weeks up? Maybe I can manage to do the whole camp!

Well, 1st day went great! It took a little over an hour to do all of my workout which maybe a problem when I have to go back to work. I think I may do my weight training in the mornings - that takes about 45 minutes then do my ab workout and my pushups and my lunges at night after work. I just don't have the time to do all of it in the morning. I have to leave at 6:15 and I don't really want to get up before 4am. Do you think that's cheating? I mean as long as I get all my workouts in for the day does it really matter when I do them?

I always wanted to join one of those bootcamps that begin early in the morning, but the cheapest I can find is one for three days a week at $200. That is too much money for me. It also doesn't begin early enough as I have to leave my house at 6:15 every morning in order to get to work. So I decide to begin my own bootcamp.

I have quite a few workout videos for weights as well as one just for the abs. I thought that I could do one of my weight video workouts as well as my abs workout and also put in some lunges and pushups. I will begin on Monday September 3rd. I will do my bootcamp 2 days a week and I will report on my progress twice a week. I decided to make it flexible on the days. I was thinking about beginnin on Monday and Wednesday and then switch to Tuesday and Thursday. I will do this for a total of 6 weeks which translates into 12 days. I will measure myself on Sunday before I begin and then measure myself again when I'm done with this challenge.

If anyone wants to join in please do.

Janice
