I loved Lisanancy's blog, and have remembered it often when exercising just seems too hard to do. So I'm glad you started this. Today I invested in many little rides on my trike:
a 4 min. ride to work, then a 4 min. one back home;
then a 10 minute ride to the track meet, and a 20 min. ride home;
then a ride around our town twice that totaled 4.4 miles in 30 min. I'm trying to take a page from Jeannie's book by starting with small bits of exercise that add up to a larger plus. Someday I hope to get as much exercise each day as she does without feeling like it is killing me! emoticon

Just as a follow up, I got the following comment on my blog for "investing" and I think it really sums it up.

Looked up the definition of each word at www. yourdictionary.com
Invest meaning 7: to spend (time, effort, etc.) with the expectation of some satisfaction
exercise meaning 3: ...bodily exertion (energetic activity; effort) for the sake of health

I'll take INVESTING for my health.emoticon

Today my Investments were:
emoticonThe Recumbent Bike at the Community Center for 46 minutes (5 miles), then
emoticonThe Elliptical at the Community Center for 14 minutes (1 mile)
emoticonThen I went to Curves, then
emoticonMy Elliptical for 21 minutes, and FINALLY
emoticonI walked around the perimeter of our neighborhood for 69 minutes (3.1 miles)

This morning my SparkFriend LISANANCY wrote a Blog about how much she--and many of us--HATES Exercise. Then she asked "What does Exercise really Mean, anyway?" Her answer--and mine--is that it means staying alive, getting stronger bones, improving our attitudes, and breathing easier.
emoticonSo, she decided to substitute the word "Investment" for "Exercise". We make daily INVESTMENTS in keeping ourselves healthy and happy.
emoticonWhat Investment will you make today?You might go for a walk, play a round of golf, go to the gym, go swimming or any number of other activitys.
emoticonWhatever you choose to do, remember that YOU are worth at least a 30 minute INVESTMENT every day. And if you are able, you may invest more. emoticonAfter all, it is YOUR FUTURE and YOU are the ONLY one who CAN invest in it.
