I just bought a Helium FuelBelt this week at my local Running Room. It has four 8 ounce bottles... don't know HOW I ever made it through long runs without it! I took it on a few shorter runs first and played around with where it should sit - I found it sits quite low, like where I would wear my pants if I was a cool kid. :) Otherwise, it rides up. But once I found the spot... there was no looking back. I did a 20Km run yesterday with no problems. Fit is going to be VERY important for your long runs so you don't get chafing... I wore my running gear to the store and tried on lots of different sizes and models. I thought I was in between a small and medium at the store, so bought the medium... however when actually running I had to wear it lower than I expected, so was very glad I bought the larger size as it really sits half way down my butt. I was SO grateful for it on my 20K run yesterday, I can't imagine having less water with me now. On my 22K run next weekend I might even do a double loop so I can refill the bottles at my house halfway, and get used to hydrating as much as I likely will on race weekend.

Carrying the extra weight does feel a little funny at first, but I quickly got used to it... and it's definitely worth it having the water/gatorade handy! Plus a very small pouch for your ID, key, and Gu.

RB, isn't that the truth? In real lide, we wouldn't be caught dead with a fanny pack and look what we wear while running. It makes one LOL.

You can't see it but in my new profile pic, I have the Amphipod belt on under my white shirt WITHOUT the watwr bottles. The pouches are so useful and the bottle holders slip off the belt very easily.

I also use an Amphipod with 2-10oz bottles. It also has a pocket on the front that can hold my key, iPod, and Shot Blocks. I love it and it doesn't jostle a lot when I run, the only complaint I have is that sometimes it is hard to pop the water bottles back into the belt.

Crazy how it's basically just a glorified fanny pack with some water bottles and when I'm running it seems like the coolest thing ever ;)

I really Like my Nathan with the 2 10 oz bottles I purchased last weekend. It does hold my keys and iPod and the 20 oz has been enough water for me so far. I figure when I need more I can also carry a bottle in my hand. It's been very comfortable on my and doesn't slide. Maybe it's the material of the clothing?

I recently purchased a Nathan fuel belt with four 7 oz bottles that snap in pretty well. I like the bottles, and the belt is pretty comfortable, but I can't get it to stay on my hips. It keeps sliding up to my waist. Any tips? Also, I have to turn it slightly so my butt muscles don't knock one of the rear bottles out when I run. I'm thinking about returning it, but I don't know if any other belt would be any better.

I will be giving my new Amphipod belt with pouches and 2-10 oz. flasks another great use Sunday with my 10 mile long run. So far I like it.

I have a Nathan belt that holds 2 10 ounce water bottles. There is a pouch that holds my cell and fuel. And a clip for my keys. I was skeptical and dreaded getting a hydration belt, but I really like it!

I have a Nathan belt for a single water bottle. I like that the bottle is angled on my back. It also has a small pocket for id/phone/gu.

I like that I can throw the water bottle in the dishwasher. So I would look for one(s) that is dishwasher safe.

You can look at all the Nathan products here:
http://www.nathansports.com/index.html or they are sold at Dicks and running stores. I would recommend trying one on in the store before you buy.

I have a hand held too but I actually haven't "held" it yet. I wrap it around my fuel belt for an extra water bottle. I should really try to use it like it's meant to be used!

For those that are not interested in a fuel belt, I have a handheld that I love. Its a Nathan QuickDraw that is 20-ish oz. bottle and the carrier has a pouch for my fuel. I hate belts and this is perfect for me. Oh and its Susan B. Komen pink.

I have the Amphipid Profile-Lite 12. I like the way the bottle hugs the body and doesn't feel like it's bouncing around. The zippered pocket will hold 2 Gu gels or 1 Gu and my cell phone.

Hello! I am beginning to look at a hydration belt or some sort of way to carry water (and possibly fuel) with me on my run. I know it's probably mostly individual preference, but I'm looking for some pointers please :)...

I think I'd want one that has the little bottles on a belt...but I'm looking for any suggestions on what's best. Also is there anything specific I should look for (features...) when purchasing one?

Links to websites to buy would also be awesome :)

Thanks in advance!!! :)
