Hello pro-life and prayer warriors!
Astrid has very kindly offered to help make up some new pro-life mysteries with me. Whoever else would like to join is would be extremely welcome!
This is what I have so far with the second set (we already have a great first set that DOREMI brought to our attention last month). I just like variety, though, and wanted to make it my summer Catholic project to think of others.
Please read the ones I have, offer suggestions if you have any (I won't be offended!), and add some of your own, if you have any ideas.
The angel of God tells Mary that her cousin Elizabeth has conceived in her old age, "for with God, nothing is impossible".
Dear God, comfort all women facing crisis pregnancies. Hep them to know that with you, all things are possible.
"Mary entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leapt in her womb."
Lord, may all pregnant women know the joy of feeling their own child leaping in their womb.
"The time came for Mary to have her child, and she gave birth to a son, her firstborn."
Father, Mary knew the joy of seeing and holding her son. Be with all women who have selflessly chosen to give their son or daughter up for adoption. Give them strength and courage as they birth their babies, and hold them for the first time, knowing even as they do, that they may not get to again.
After Joseph and Mary presented Jesus to the Lord, the aged widow Anna gave thanks and spoke to all who were interested in the redemption of Israel.
Lord, help us always to remember that we are all called to worship you and proclaim your faithfulness, no matter our age. Whether young or old, we must fulfill our duties until the time of our natural death.
Finding in the Temple
After searching anxiously for three days, Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the Temple.
Lord, be with all parents of missing children as they search anxiously for them. Reunite their families once again, as You once reunited Your Son with His earthly parents.
So, those ones are complete (unless you wish to change anything).
These are half-ideas:
Resurrection - that God brings all babies who have been aborted into the light of His presence
Descent of the Holy Spirit - something about the Holy Spirit working within those individuals who are pro-choice, changing their hearts.
Baptism in the Jordan - something about each child conceived being a beloved son or daughter of God
Wedding at Cana - asking Mary to intercede for us whether we are dealing with a crisis pregnancy, or we are working for the pro-life cause
Proclamation of the Kingdom - bringing our weakness and fears to Jesus, and allowing him to heal us
The disciples were in awe when they faced Jesus' Divine nature. Something about helping us to remember that God is God and to follow His laws.
Institution of the Eucharist
Something about the Body of Christ, and how we are all part of it.
I thought these mysteries could be especially for those who have performed abortions, or assisted with them, those who make laws that protect abortion and abortion clinics, those women who have had abortions, and those who have coerced women or counselled women to have abortions.
Crucifixion - something about the nails being driven into Jesus' hands - those who have preformed abortions?
What do you guys think? Can you help me tweak them? Add those I am missing?

The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and left untried.
How many observe Christ’s birthday! How few, his precepts! O! ‘Tis easier to keep holidays than commandments.
