Yes, I do the strength training as well. I quite like the workouts they have linked to the running program. The Lean Machine one if pretty good and No Gear Here is great since you don't need any equipment.
I was doing the C25K but got to the point where I couldn't move on to the next week no matter how hard I tried. Right now I'm doing a running plan from the Women's Health website, basically to build you up to the point of running for a half hour straight. Here's the link www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/weig ht -loss-program-walk-run?page=1#axzz1lR>NbW5Pgy I'm on week 4 right now. I'm going to repeat it next week so I get more comfortable running 8 minutes straight.
I've thought about doing couch to 5k for like a year but never fully talked myself into it...
Then in January I got way into the idea of it when I decided to join Team In Training! Over the next 4 months I will be training to run a half marathon to raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!
13.1 miles....I definitely need a buddy...a few buddies!!!
Any runners in here? Anyone who looks longingly at those marathon posters and thinks 'I'll never do that'?
I could use a workout buddy and want to turn this thread into a C25K group. You don't have to be on the C25K plan, but working towards a running/working out goal.
Tonight is going to be Day 2 of the C25K program for me. This is a 3x a week 9 week program designed to get you off the couch and jogging a sustained 30 minutes by the end. It goes in spurts, starting off with Week 1 at:
5 min warm-up 20 minutes: alternating 60 seconds of jogging/90 seconds of walking 5 min cool-down
Anyone interested in this program can check out www.c25k.com/ . There is also a Smartphone app, C25K Lite (free) which will create an alarm system to keep you on track.
