I tried the low GI diet last year. I bought two books "Living the GI Diet" and "The GI Cookbook". I kept with it for about two months, but it just wasn't for me. It was too different from my habits that it was becoming a chore to keep going.
So now I just make sure I have more veggies on my plate than anything else.
Not sure if that helps you, but I would suggest getting a book on the subject. It will have alot of tips and pointes in it as well as some recipies for you to try out.
