Before you eat, do a self-scan and check in with your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations.
Take a deep, slow breath and close your eyes. Ask yourself:
How does my body feel at this moment? (Are you tense? What is your energy level?)
What is my mind doing right now? (Is it worrying, planning, remembering?)
What emotions am I experiencing? (Am I rushing lunch because I'm afraid of a work deadline? Am I grabbing a doughnut because I'm feeling sad? Am I having a second glass of wine because I'm tired?)
This challenge is designed to help us become aware of how our beliefs, emotions or our energy level affect our eating.
