I need to watch my portions. Thank you for this challenge!

I am so glad that so many of you have been following the challenges. If you've been adding each new challenge to your routine and it's become a habit, you're probably already seeing the changes and results from healthier living and more minful habits.

I'd like to start of December with portion control visualization. To make it easier, this challenge is to carry a one cup dry weight measuring cup with you to every meal for one day. If you eat most of your meals at home and prepare them yourself (please say you do!) this will be easy. If you don't, please consider making it a priority. You'll save hundreds of calories by avoiding take out, fast food, or store bought meals.

I don't suggest that you measure each meal, simply have the cup to compare it to, to give you an idea of how many servings you're eating. It will help you visualize a serving. Though actually measuring it with the cup is very helpful. I dd this exercise a few months back with my trainer (who is also a nutritionist) and I didn't measure fresh salads, but I used it for everything else, for one solid week. I would scramble up eggs or cereal in the AM, and put it in the cup before putting it on my plate. Same for lunch and dinner. And all snacks. It wasn't the easiest or most fun, but it taught me what a serving on my plate should look like, and it certainly contributed to significant weight loss.

Please let us know your comments on the challenge in the Discuss December Week 1 board.
