I'm in! I almost always get all of my water in, but sometimes I end up drinking to much after dinner.

I have no problem with water, I drink about 3 Litres (12 glasses) a day. Once your body gets used to that amount of water you don't pee all the time. I found it only took a couple of days to reach this point.

Other than 1 or 2 cup of tea a day water is all I drink. I found I drank ALOT of calories and only drinking water was an easy way to fix that!
Wishing everyone an awesome day.

Drinking the water is no problem for me. Not eating in front of the computer, TV, or in the car...THAT'S a challenge for me.

So far I 've missed getting all my water in. I fill 3 bottles equal to 8 1/2 cups and leave them ready but I still have 2 on the table. Must make a more MINDFULL thought to these tomorrow,

Got my glasses in emoticon this is the easiest challenge for me because I have been working on doing this since I joined Spark.
I am also taking time to sit and eat my food without reading or sitting at the computer. But I forgot to do it this morning . so I will challenge myself to eat intentionally for the rest of the day.

A big glass of water before meals is also a trick some people use to get that full feeling, with the hopes of not eating as much.

Marilu Henner has written a lot of health books, and she talks alot about digestion issues. She has mentioned in her books not to drink water, or anything with meals, for the same reason mentioned here. But, I can't see having a meal without a beverage

I track on my nutrition page. It should automatically do that for any team challenges for which we are signed up.

I'm in too. I drink enough water every day since joining SparkPeople, but I am not consistent about when I drink it. This is great.

Well I could do that but why would I want to?

I'm in as well. I feel better when I drink 10-12 cups of water a day. I don't have a problem with getting my water down. But last week, there were a few days when I didn't get at least 6. I drink it with meals. I wasn't aware of water diluting acids to help digest foods. I would think it would aid in digestion. I know it makes me feel fuller when I drink it with my meals and I tend to get in more water when I drink it with meals. Hmmm...I'll have to investigate this just for my own information. I usually don't drink anything else with my meals other than water. I don't know if I will be able to be as strict with the scheduled times to drink it. I just carry around a 32-ounce water jug.

Good luck everyone!

HiIAJOEB!
You are absolutely right, as long as you are drinking 8 glasses of water a day, you are doing great! My suggestion is to drink water with meals for those that don't drink enough throughout the day.
Thanks for checking on this!

Thank you for your suggestion and I do drink 8 8 ounce glasses of water a day but I try not to drink water with meals. I am of the school that it dilutes the acid that helps digest my food. So it is the eight glasses that is important not when I drink it. Correct?

November's first challenge is a tough one, and one that most people need help with.

The challenge is drink one glass of water upon waking, one w/ breakfast, two between breakfast and lunch, one w/ lunch, two between lunch and dinner, one w/ dinner.

I hope that this method of getting in enough water during the day is helpful to you, and becomes a habit that you can carry with you long after the challenge is over.

This structure ensures that you stay hydrated throughout the day. Water has so many health benefits and ensuring you get enough can affect your body in many ways:

* Water keeps your skin well hydrated and can have a positive effective on many unwanted skin conditions such as eczema and dry skin.
* It has natural anti-aging benefits and can help plump out the skin and keep those wrinkles at bay.
* Although our bodies are excellent at getting rid of unwanted toxins, drinking plenty of water helps this process by flushing them through. If you suffer from constipation or irritable bowel, water will also help greatly by helping the gut and bowel work more efficiently.
* Water retention can be helped by drinking more water. When we retain water, it can be that our bodies are in survival mode because it is not getting enough on a regular basis. Sipping water throughout the day will help your body pass water through more efficiently.
* If you suffer regularly from headaches, general fatigue or energy dips throughout the day this could be a result of dehydration - you may feel a big difference from drinking water regularly throughout the day.
* Dehydration can also cause mood swings so if you find yourself getting irritable or impatient with people or events, staying well hydrated can help regulate your moods.

You can read more about the benefits of getting enough water intake online at:
http://www.beverageinstitute.org/hydration/tips_for_staying_hydrated.shtml
