I know that this thread is old and I haven't posted anything on this board in years, but I have to put some personal challenges somewhere, so why the hell not?

- Offskates workouts 2X weekly (combination of plyos and strength)
- Less simple carbs, more lean protein and veggies
- Work on becoming a double threat - jamming is new to me

Best to all!

I will pass my 27 in 5 in the next month! I've been working so hard, and have passed all the rest of the minimum skills. Grrrrrrr

Footwork, footwork, and footwork. Oh, and footwork. ;)

I want to be able to suicide stop in both directions. I want to run several steps on my toe stops. I want to be able to suicide stop without slowing myself with a t-stop first.

I want to work on getting lower so that I can hip check effectively.

I have two goals: to be able to confidently do transistions and skate backwards.

That means every practise I need to be on the rink, skating and practising before we even start warm up. Practise makes perfect!

I got my skates back on last week for the first time in 6 mo (torn ACL). I have put my 25 in 5 on my goals, and was looking back to where I was before the injury. I want to do better with that, and to keep up with aerobics classes and running for off-rink time. But I also need to bank some serious rink time to get caught up...literally lol

I have a bunch of little goals for this season. I want to step up my game overall, for sure, but I really want to focus on becoming a strong Mamma Hen for our new girls.

I want to focus on hitting more with my hips, increase my speed, and become more agile.

I have a few things I'd like to improve on this season.

First, getting through on the inside when I'm jamming. I'm trying to learn how to work my shoulder in on the corners and use the centrifugal for created by the track to bump a blocker off the line. I suck at it. Big time.

Secondly, I would like to improve the timing of my hits so that they can be more effective.

Thirdly, I would like to get better at one on one blocking. I often find myself up front as the last line of defense and I'd like to be able to hold the jammer back longer until help arrives.

Fourth, I'd like to work on not letting opposing blockers pass me in the pack.

This thread is for you to pledge your own personal challenges. It could be something like mastering a T-Stop on both your left and right leg, to adding an extra two laps to your 5 minutes sprint. Share your personal challenge here.
