As of yesterday, 267 miles walked and run.
I have counted steps while on the treadmill and know how many walking steps it takes to do 1/20 of a mile or 1/4 mile and so on... Just from my desk to my bathroom and back 2x is 1/20 mile. I just can't imagine tracking all that without a pedometer... but it would sure make it easier to make my goal!

Welcome MOMMBO! I joined this team and challenge not long ago myself. Basically, this challenge started to try to go 1000 miles for the year of 2008. Members that didn't join at the start have been deciding on a shorter distance since they don't have as much time. I chose to try for 600 miles by the end of the year, and I started earlier this month. As far as I know, anything that you can count miles for counts. Treadmill, bike, elliptical, walking, etc. Good luck with the challenge!

If I continue to count just treadmill miles, that puts me at 14 miles per week to get my 500 in. Given that my average has been 8 miles/week, that's a worthy goal for me. I'm glad this challenge is flexible! Great to be motivated now instead of having to wait. Thanks!

I'm new to this team and just saw this challenge. I don't have a pedometer - which if I did might actually have me on track for the year... but treadmill miles for me are currently at 239. (I have been tracking those!) Based just on treadmill and the time of year, would it be reasonable for me to challenge myself to complete 500 miles by the end of the year? Or should I just wait until January and see about tracking an equivalent 2009 challenge?

yesterday 40 minutes elliptical and today I walked around the arts and crafts show 30 acres for 4 hours with slowing down, everyone with me had to keep up they kept saying to slow down. HA HA no way

DH and I walked 2 miles at dawn before the heat really hit. After breakfast, we walked to and from the stores, for a total of about 4 miles.

DH and I walked 2 miles in about 41 minutes. We hadn't walked regularly for a couple of days because of the intense mid-90s heat and humidity. Hope everyone is drinking plenty of water.
