from june 1 to june 5...walked a total of 45 minutes...not a whole lot, but it's something!

under the weather today..walking may consist of to bed and to office to check computer stuff now and then, to kitchen for food, then back to bed.

I've been off the spark pages for awhile again, but am back; but have been staying the course with exercising and eating in more healthy ways. The weight loss goes so slow... is that a post menopause thing? Have a colleague who has to be on a gluten free diet so I've been trying out those types of foods and I find I enjoy them and and now am using more rice products vs wheat or soy.

anyhow..what motivates me:

all the clothes I dragged out of the back closets that don't fit..and I want them to fit! Goal clothes for July or August.
hearing my MD say in late August that my bp and cholesterol are continuing their downward trend
feeling more energetic each day
enjoying new foods/new recipes and sharing them with friends who are then amazed healthy foods do actually taste good
wedding in Sept and want to wear that not so little black dress..from the back of the closet

challenges..
heat and humidity..my excuse for not walking, or doing any exercise..
when I don't lose what I think I should each week, I get into a bad attitude such as 'why bother at all'
food cravings that hit..at night.. for chips/sweets/ don't have them in the house..but KwikTrip is just down the street/around the corner and open 24/7 plus they always have pizza slices to go!!! yikes..
no one around me to help motivate me..most friends say..oh, you look fine the way you are; or life is short..eat what you want.why kill yourself exercising..etc. etc..

(did start a new program today..an hour of workouts with a trainer; wow! I will do this for five weeks, twice a week with him and otherwise on my own..IF I can remember how to set up the machines or which exercises to do..there are so many! but it felt great..)

Walking chart: FYI the week of June 13-19 I will not be walking much. I am having Surgery on the 16th...but I will try to get in as much as I can.

Ok so this is my first month of being your new team leader and I am hoping that we can start it off with a BANG! emoticon

So as a way to get to know my team and better see what people like to do, the challenge this month is to post 5 things about yourself that help you on your journey and 5 things that keep you from being successful.

2nd part of the challenge, walk 10 minutes every day. Post your total walking minutes here each week, always editing your original post. Then at the end of the month I will award the winner with a Gold Crown Spark Goodie.

Here is my example:
