I was talking to some women at my gym and the one I'd known for years complimented me on the changes I've made and the weight I'd lost. The other one, whom I've known only a year or so said "Oh. You've always been skinny to me". that made me smile and made me glad I'd been putting in all the effort to make this transformation.
People like it when me and Mom wear the same jacket or the same tops. I tell them its so Mom can find me in a crowd. My mom has Alzheimer's and it helps her stay with me in the store or restaurant. Best wishes, Linda from bean town

On the eve of my one-year maintenance Sparkversary, I've loved reading about the lighter side of maintenance. My only funny times have been when people who tip-toed around the issue of my weight loss finally came out and asked if I was okay. Apparently they assumed the weight loss meant I was ill. I appreciated their concern, but it tickled me no end to report the loss was intentional and the result of hard work.
Either I look as young as my daughter or else she looks as old as I, because on Mothers' Day we had lunch together and a friend came by and said, "Your daughter looks just like you!" We both said, "Thank you", because we didn't know what else to say.
DH lost some weight, apparently mostly in his hips and tush. He tried to catch the two cats who were running to an open door to get out - he caught each cat, had one in each hand - and his pants fell down around his ankles, and he couldn't move! I, of course, was laughing so hard that I couldn't walk over to shut the door. It was quite the moment!

Losing weight has definitely made me look and feel so much younger. One time, I was out at a bar with one of my sisters, when a guy asked if we were twins. You should have seen the look on his face when I told him we were thirteen years apart!
My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since.

How about a story about someone else? I remember a priest we had who was losing weight. He wore the standard alb, amice and cincture with the chasuble over it. He was standing at the epistle side of the altar, when he suddenly dashed into the sacristy. The deacon and sub-deacon just stared openmouthed and we all stopped and watched. After a few minutes he returned and picked up where he left off. We could see his socks beneath the alb. Turns out his pants had fallen down and he had to get out before they hit his ankles and couldn't move, and he just stepped out of them and said the rest of the Mass in his underwear. I guess that's one advantage of the priestly layered look.

No one ever got up in the morning wishing she'd eaten more the night before.
A couple of weeks ago, I had my usual sweats on over my workout clothes as I was leaving the locker room to head home. Keep in mind that the sweat pants are size 2x, which was what I was wearing at 285 pounds. They started to drop off of me as I walked out of the locker room and into the common area of the gym! I had keep holding onto the waist to keep them up until I got to the car (was too darn cold to just have my shorts on).
Needless to say, I made sure to buy another pair of sweatpants the next day: size Medium!
I loved that status update, as well! So keeping in line with the lol - I had bought some new bras back in September, and had spent good money on them (which was a first for me ever). I've lost ~ 15 lbs and 2 inches in my bust since then and am not about to go buy new bras yet. However, when I sit down, the bra actually fits like before and stands out (like Madonna cones at this point!), but what's in the bra no longer fills it out. When I lie down it's even worse!

I think most of us agree there isn't enough info out there in the general press about how to maintain weight loss. We get good stuff here on Spark of course. But as we live the "maintenance life" I've also been thinking of fun stuff we run into that is unique to maintenance and keeps us going.
One of my favorite status reports this week was from a Spark friend who said she broke up with Lane Bryant! Made me LOL
So I am starting this to see where we go. This morning I popped on a pretty tee shirt that always hid multiple sins. Well now it drops below my acceptable cleavage level and hangs on me like a bag. It's so out of here! What do you run into that makes you Laugh Out Loud in maintenance? Let's have some fun with this.
