I see you posted this quite a while back..but better late than never, :) I agree..a 40 plus makeup tip site would be great. Recently, I started looking at you-tube video's for older skin make up tips..You should maybe check it out, there's quite a few. But some of the tips I have discovered on my own are obvious one's, like not wearing too much black pencil under my eyes-going lighter and more natural seems to look better. Also, a makeup artist (at the make up supply store) showed me an eye -brightening technique. I believe she used products from the Benefit line..She put white pencil under my brows and in the inner corners of my eyes (she smudged in well). Then, she took a glisseny iridescent liquid and put it UNDER my eyes and OVER my brows- a raccoon shape (mostly invisible but shows in certain light angles.) The result makes your eyes pop more. I liked the effect, it is only supposed to be a slight brightening. Re not using shimmer -I think that's when the shimmer gets in wrinkles it might not look good. I still use a little shimmer and I dont think it looks bad or aging. I like your moisturizer and fountain trick-yes I too have found that that works well. Thanks!

"You never know just how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have"
I would love to see a thread with tips and tricks for those of us who are over 40 and noticing changes in the way things are working!
I, for one, am tired of being told I "shouldn't" wear any kind of shimmer because I'm "too old"!!
Yet, things ARE changing - my skin is changing a LOT and I don't do my makeup the way I did 20 years ago!
I'll start the thread with my favorite trick:
Ever since I turned about 44 my allergies got a LOT worse, and suddenly my sometimes combo skin was terribly dry and flaky on my cheeks and around my eyes. Foundation just accentuated it....but with redness increasing, little capillaries showing....I needed help! So I started putting my moisturizer on as usual, then combining more moisturizer with my foundation and putting that on - essentially giving myself two layers of moisture. The flakies disappeared!
Enquiring minds wanna know...what have YOU discovered since turning 40ish that has been a great trick - or a not so good idea, lol?
