Well team, I'm off to Florida tomorrow. Vacation time at the beach with the family. Can't wait. I plan on tracking my food on paper while I'm gone so I can update sparkpeople when I get back. Good luck Mommies.

This week has not started out well with my workouts. I've been coughing my head off for 2 days now. I'm hoping tomorrow I'll be able to workout. I have been eating well though so that's a plus. Hope everyone else is doing better. I have lost 4 pounds and 11.5 inches!!!

First week of the challenge went well even though I'm only down one pound, I can tell a difference in my clothes already and I feel better. So far, I've been consistently increasing my workout intensities. Pushed it to Level 5 on the elliptical today and could really feel it. Trying to get everything updated here on spark tonight.
Sunday - off Monday - 30 minutes on elliptical plus strength training (4.2 mph average on Level 2 -total 2.1 miles) Tuesday - walked an hour Wednesday - 30 minutes on elliptical plus strength training (4.2 mph average on Level 5 -total 2.1 miles) Thursday - off Friday- 30 min walk Saturday- 30 min walk
time to log my calories for the last couple of days now.

I'm so proud of myself for making my workout goals for last week. I made it 5 days for a minimum of 30 minutes. I've already increased my speed on the elliptical from 3.6mph to 4.0 mph. Thinking I'll go to a different level to increase my intensity this week. I've made some great changes in my eating but due to activities with the kids Friday and Saturday, I didn't stay quite within my goals there. Here's to a new week to get it right!

Walked for a few minutes today, wanted to go much longer but am on a schedule with the kids and it's hard to keep track of time with no watch! Stupid cell phone has become the watch and it's kinda hard to keep checking that. I have this evening, I guess. Told the kiddos they could go to the McDonalds playland after work tonight, better not disapoint them. I'll get this figured out, I have the weekend for the "last chance" workout.

Day 3 of working out. Wondering when my body will be less sore. I'm loving the total body workout program on the elliptical at the gym. 32 minutes today. 1.9 miles completed. I'm up from average speed of 3.6 mph to 3.7 mph. Not bad for working out 3 days straight. It helped having some music to listen to today. I'm looking forward to reaching 2 miles in 30 minutes. Hopefully, I can reach that goal in a week or so.
I don't see a workout for tomorrow. We had to replace our server (computer) at work today and everything's messed up now. Not good for a busy medical office. I've got to get up earlier in the morning and get the kids to school. Then, I've got to get there to get this problem fixed before seeing all the patients on my schedule. I know I'll be wore out by the time I make it home tomorrow night. I figure I deserve a day rest. I don't want to burn myself out by hitting it too hard with my changes.
Good luck everyone!

Hi Ladies - May 1st SW 129.4 - Yikes this was after two days of carb loading and a half marathon. However it doesn't seem to be going down as fast as it normally does after race day. Yesterday I did a 12 km run in 72 minutes, today is hill training day. 20 minutes to run to the hill and back and 40 minutes of repeats.

Quick question though, since I am 31 weeks preggo, can I please skip the weigh-in and measuring part? Getting on the scales at the docs every other week is depressing enough, lol.

Thanks for starting a new challenge!!! I'm totally stoked and can't wait!!! I def know I can do this, been on a roll for the last two weeks and have been keeping up with logging in all my stuff for the past week, week and half? And been hitting the gym. So, this is what I need!!! Haven't weighed myself or measured yet today, but will. As far as the measurements go, do we just need to do what it says to measure in the SP tracking thing? Or write it all down and do a full measurement?

Just remember everyone that in order for it to count as cardio, you have to get and keep your heartrate up... just walking isn't normally enough to do unless it's a brisk one. If you're walking around at work or the mall or playing with your kids, it's not likely going to keep your heartrate elevated so take those things into consideration.

Hi Ladies,
I just joined the team and am very excited about the May Challenge. I am training for a marathon at the end of May (a very slow marathon) I just finished a half marathon yesterday and am not very happy with my finishing time or the pictures. My daughter is now 21 months old time to focus on getting these 10lbs off. I'm hoping a challenge and a focus can help!

I'm so excited. I've been off spark for at least 6 months and this seems like the perfect start! Hopefully, the group can get back to where we used to be! I'm looking forward to hitting the gym tomorrow and saying good-bye to all those greasy burgers. I'm sick of eating that way! My husband is finally on my side about getting healthy as well. Hopefully, supporting each other, we'll be more successful. Good luck to everyone!
