today is my first day but i am sure i can at least hit 2-3lbs by the 31st.I weighed in at 216 this morningand i hope to be down to 214 by sunday emoticon

I didn't see this challenge blah. But I am wanting to loose a total of 5lbs this month. The beginning of this month I was 180 so I have lost 2lbs yay.

Small baby step goals to begin with so I don't get discouraged again

Sometimes you get knocked down, but you somehow have to get back up again..

small steps at a time

Nothing taste as good as thin feels

goals:

5lbs by Jan 8- Done
10lbs by Feb 8
10lbs by March 8
10lbs by April 8
10lbs by May 8
10 lbs by June 8

If I can do that- that will be 55lbs gone by my sisters wedding in June weight would be 141

Hey there everybody. Nobody has posted anything in a while, so I wanted to check in and see how everybody is doing.
August has been quite good for me. I've gotten back on track with the exercise and the eating is better (although still not as good as it should be). I managed to get my weight pretty stable since getting home from Israel, but I'm not yet back to the 128 my ticker is showing.
I'm at a solid 130 now (I was maybe 132 before) and I'm pretty sure I won't be seeing that 128 until a couple weeks into the school year. At school I can't cook and don't go out to restaurants so my food choices are very limited. Plus I love to go to the workout classes there and end up burning crazy amounts of calories every week.
So for the rest of August I'm just trying to keep things stable and wait for a big push when school starts.
Hope August is treating you all well. Enjoy the last days of summer! =(

I know I'm joining the challenge a bit late, but I've been keeping my weight tracked on gyminee.com so I thought I'd join now. For the month, my goal was to lose 8 pounds...I started the month at 172 and am now at 168.5. I've been trying to eat healthier, stop drinking soda, and add more protein into my diet. I also became a walking buddy at work with my older coworker who has diabetes and asthma...it's motivating to me to keep her healthier! :) I've continued going to the gym 3-4 nights per week as I had been, but also added short workout videos in the morning and a friend has convinced me to meet up with her at the gym on some weekends. I'm feeling really good about this and just want to stay on track!! I hope you are all doing well and reaching your goals this month!!

Thanks a tone, thats great advice.. i will plan my meals a day in advanced and thinking like each day is day one, will definetly help. i guess if i do that i can keep my motivation up, cus after a while i feel like it's been forever. I don't want to give up like i always do. keep pushing me ladies.. i appreciate it alot.

Hey All,
I have been out of touch for awhile now, life has been super busy and crazy and not always in a good way. Work has been extremely stressful with 2 people resigning and only leaving 3 people left to do the job of 10. And also my 2 1/2 year old daughter is going thru a phase right now where she is scared to go to bed!! She was a great sleeper before this and it's upsetting to see her so upset over this phase. I hope it passes soon!!!
On a good note tho I am at 140, my weight has been all over the place the month of July topping out at 147. From here I plan to lose about 3 more pounds and then really maintain from there. We will see if I can lose 3 pounds for this challenge.
Nice to see so many new faces and some old ones too!
Great job to all you losers and good luck to all those new comers! :)

I would suggest planning out what you are going to eat the next day the night before. Put it in the tracker, make sure it's in the calorie range, and then do your best the next day to stick to it. Maybe make your planned menu at the lower-mid range of calories, so that if you have an unplanned snack you still won't go over.

Down to 139! 1 pound to go!

I've been changing it up at the gym by using the bike in my routine AND I've been pretty good about packing a healthy lunch and avoiding foods that I can't stop eating :)

Keep up the hard work everyone, it is worth it!

I'm in for august too. I'm back from Israel now and have to make up for all the eating and laziness while I was there. I only gained a few pounds but I feel huge. Anyway. I'm going for 2 pounds this month. I'm leaving my ticker at 128 but right now I'm 130-131. good luck everybody.
oh and the scale thing. At school I weigh myself probably 10 times a day. I don't do it b/c I'm obsessed or b/c it affects my mood, but b/c this way I have a better idea of what my actual weight is. If i weigh myself only one time in 7 days that one time could not be very representative of my usual weight. I could be bloated or something and I don't want that to make me feel like I didn't succeed that week. It also helps me to see how much your weight can fluctuate in only a couple hours. When you realize ur weight goes up and down like 3 lbs all day, you don't get so worked up when one morning you don't see the number u hoped for.

Today i got up and left my house at 5:45, so that i could walk abit before catching the bus. It made me feel so good. I'm a nurse so i spend most of the day walking, i count is as part of my workout.
Friday is "weight day"kinda looking forward to it, and not all at the same time. I was going to make it once a week, but i think i'll make it one every two weeks.

I put my scale in an out of the way place. Or a place that I cant use it. I have carpet all over my house. I can only use the scale in the bathroom or kitchen. I am NOT going to weight myself in the kitchen. I cant get a good read on the carpet. It used to be in the kitchen behind all my cleaning stuff under the sink. It was annoying and embarassing to go and get it all the time.

what i am doing now, is that a schedule my weight day.. using the planner on sparks people! I make it an event so that i can forward to it. I guess in a way it is my reward. emoticon can your best friend or your enemy, it ws my enemy now i'm learning to control 'my obsession' and make it my friend

I haven't weighed myself this week, tomorrow is my "weigh day".. I have to fight very hard to not weigh myself every day.. I have the same problem, if I don't watch it I will weigh myself 6-8 times a day. Any advice on how to fix that?

My goal this month is to go from my starting weight of 142.5 to 137.5 lbs. Getting out of the 140's has been a real challenge for me but I can feel I am going to do it this month.

5 pound loss this month.

Gonna do it by adding more consistent weight workouts to my routine.

My goal is to lose 8 pounds this month. This will leave me at 227.5 (starting weight 235.5). I know I can do this.. I do cario 3-4 times per week. I am going to increase that to 5 times per week, and my strength training will be 4-5 times a week. emoticon
