I work out at home with Turbo Fire, Hip Hop Abs, my interval timer, dumbbells and Youtube. Home workouts are definitely easiest for me as it is the most economical at this time. Also, I can roll right out of bed and get my workout done before work. emoticon

I fell off the "wagon" for awhile but now that I'm back. I think I will end up doing "in home" exercises. Maybe use videos online to exercise by on the floor mat. I will have to customize something that will work for me. I will start slowly and progress my way to my desired speed...which is faster than slow (lol).

I really enjoy following along with some of the workout videos on this site. I have various sized dumbbells at home I use twice a week. Most of my exercise is done without any additional devices. I do strength training for arms on Tuesday and Friday. Thursday, I do leg strengthening exercises. Plus, on the Wednesdays and weekends I do core. I try to fit in cardio on any day. I haven't developed a good routine for this yet.

The key for me has been logging my time and reps. Each week I will try to beat my last weeks numbers. If I'm having an off day, I will push myself to at least meet my numbers from last week. My own personal challenge. It's fun.

I find that for strength training and yoga/pilates, videos are the best, you just need to find the ones that work for you and invest in new ones (cheap on Amazon!) every once in a while.
Check out Core Fusion workouts and anything by Tony Horton and Chalene Johnson.

For cardio I just want to tune out. I invested in a good treadmill and run on it while listening to my favorite music or audio books. Although, when pressed for time, I do Tony Horton 10 minute trainer cardio sets.

Don't give up

I have an elliptical (Valentine's present from an exboyfriend) and have just started Brazil Butt Lift workouts (present from present boyfriend). Are my romantic interests trying to tell me something?

I also run--used to do at least 4 miles every other day but tore something and am lying low (easing back into it... slow 2 milers 2-3 times a week now). Wii Fit is awesome--I hit the yoga every once in awhile.

Love my WII fit plus!! My lil man exercises right beside me and we even do his games which are various dancing games to get us both up and moving. We sometimes walk to the park which is about a half mile round trip - i think that's plenty for a 3 year old on top of playing.

I have lost 200 lbs in 2.5 yrs and I never stepped foot in the gym or even outside. I put in any workout dvd pull out my step and weights, listen to my ipod and just do my dvd if I hit a spot I think is to easy that's when I punch it up with my step. I also dance crazy all around the living room when i'm doing a dvd and it gets boring. I just have fun break a sweat and really don't care how goofy I look.

The best thing I ever did was get a nordic track ski machine 16 years ago, before I was even pregnant with my oldest daughter! It still works and I've never had a problem! When the kids were really little, I'd work out at night. Now that they're older (my youngest is 6) I don't worry about them waking up to my noise in the morning (they don't) I do it then. But to get the time to get everything done, I wake up at about 4:30. It doesn't matter though. It's completely worth it to get up that early and get the workout in! It makes me feel a billion times better than not doing it!

I have some videos (yoga, pilates, tae bo, yoga booty ballet), I've also done some OnDemand workout shows for variety, You Tube has some decent videos as well. I have bands, weights, an exercise ball and a smaller ball for strength training and a mini stair stepper a jump rope for cardio. There's also the exercises here that I'll peruse, try and favorite if I like it. I'll also blast some good music, dance and sing along and get my son moving too. Near home, I'll walk, run, or bike around the neighborhood.

I use a mix of my Beachbody programs, like P90X, Power90, Turbo Jam, Hip Hop Abs/Rockin' Body, etc... and I'm excitedly awaiting my arrival of the newest one- INSANITY!

I love home workouts because I don't have to schlep myself to the gym, I don't have to worry about what to do with the kids while I'm working out, I can do them anytime! Plus- they WORKED for me!! That's the best part!

Someone asked how you get motivated to do these DVDs? Well, just consider how much time you might spend watching tv in the evening maybe- and realize that some of these workouts can be done in just 1/2 hr of that tv time- so TIVO one show and just get a workout in! And if you just don't feel like it, put a disk in anyway- and tell yourself that you WILL do 10 minutes of it. And once you've hit that 10-minute point, if you STILL don't feel like it, then give yourself the freedom to stop the workout and call it a day. But most of the time, once you hit that 10-minute mark, you'll feel good enough to keep on going. At worst, you've gotten at least 10 minutes in... which is better than doing NOTHING that day. :-)

And with each day, you can work up to wanting to get that workout in, and actually missing it, if you don't do one!

Decide-Commit-Succeed
The Beachbody slogan has actually worked for me! It's not magic, it's good old fashioned hard work- but it WORKS.
Let me know if I can help you select one of our great workout programs.

I like Tony Horton's ten minute trainer. I hate to face a 20 or 30 or 60 minute routine, but I can usually tackle 10 mins. The time goes by very quickly and then I can do another if I want to at that time or later in the day. I bought the set with resistance bands on ebay.

I use spark people to create my strength training exercises as I can put what stuff I have around the house to use for the exercises. You can substitute canned foods for dumbbells. As for cardio, there are so many options: walking around my neighborhood, taking my daughter to the park, botanical gardens, or some other place where we can walk and have fun at the same time. Chase her through the house and tickle her, play catch with a ball or kick the ball back and forth. At work I go up and down stairs and walk on my breaks/lunch. Having some fitness videos are good too: My favorites are anything by Denise Austin and I really like the Turbo Jam by Chalene Johnson, but found out I have arthritis in my neck so I have to work to being able to do that routine. I get injured from doing it so I have to build myself to that level.

I workout a lot at home b/c I have two small children. I use a lot of the exercises off of oxygenmag.com. A lot of them are meant to be done at home, the show options to use items that are already in your house such as chairs and tables. Also with a few added items such as bands, a pilates ball, hand weights, a lot of things can be done at home. The website also teaches a lot about how to pair your exercises to get the most benefit.

I am a lover of Spanish music and found a new workout program that uses this. It's called Zumba and it's supposed to be very beneficial. I go latin dancing on the weekends, so I figure if I do that I should be able to exercise to it as well. They always say to find something you like, that way you will stick to it.

It's easy to put this on and exorcise because it entertains my little ones. Then when my kids aren't around or asleep in their rooms, I put in Carmen Electra's Striptease Aerobics. It's just a little something that makes me feel kind of sexy afterwards. ;o)

I have a lot of DVD's that I use. I have Leslie Sansone's Walk away the Pounds, Yoga booty ballet, The firm,Tae-Bo... and some other kinds I can't think of now. I wanted some variety in my workouts, so I just keep buying different stuff. Now, I just have to remember to do some everyday.

I have the same problem of getting my work outs in. I have every pilates, Hip Hop Abs, Body by Jake, Core series, small trampoline, swiss ball, and hand weights. If I had the weight bench I really wouldn't need much else besides maybe an elliptical. haha. Seriously though, I find excuses every night to prevent me from working out. Is there anyone who would be willing to be my partner of accountability for say maybe the first 2 weeks to get me going. I would like to start tomorrow if anyone is willing to be online tomorrow to help rev me up to start this exercise routine? I need help in motivating me to start back up, please!!!

I BELIEVE IN ME!

You can get it at walmart or online at target stores. I love it. You do need to by a watch that monitors your heart rate. She takes a fitness test first to see what you level should be and she asks you if its to hard for you or to easy. She makes the workout diffrent everytime you do it.

I have a little gym at my house with an elliptical trainer and treadmill. I also have hand weights and a yourself fitness personal trainer game. The game is great its something diffrent everyday. You have to keep track of your heartrate and put it into the game. She goes by that to see how far to push you. She talks to you and gives you support its crazy really. But it works. The game is for a playstation2 and it really helps me feel good about myself when I see myself doing more reps than before.

Hi everyone. I just want to get some ideas about what other people who work out from home do. I have some weight lifting and yoga DVD's which I do routinly 6x a week, and I have the Reebok speedpac weights which are great because they are adjustable weights that go from 2 lbs to 12lbs taking up very little space. I also have a trampoline that I fitted with a foam cover and hot-glued some suede to, so it looks like an awesome large ottoman when not in use. When I'm ready, I just take the cover off, and my little $30 trampoline is ready to go, and when I'm not using it, it becomes my coffee table. However, I find that I get bored with just haveing two things at home, and am wondering what other people do...I go for walks, but that doesn't feel intensive enough. I like to workout while my daughter is sleeping, so I don't have to take time away from her-I'm sure you all have great creative ideas, and I'm on a tight budget, so I would love to hear them! Thanks.
