Little of all this, of course, reached the ears of ordinary hobbits. But even the deafest and most stay-at-home began to hear queer tales; and those whose business took them to the borders saw strange things. The conversation in The Green Dragon at Bywater, one evening in the spring of Frodo's fiftieth year, showed that even in the comfortable heart of the Shire rumours had been heard, though most hobbits still laughed at them. You have walked 21.2 miles.
You have passed Green Hill Country.
It is 5.8 miles to the next landmark.
You have 415.6 miles to reach Rivendell.

After some time they crossed the Water, west of Hobbiton, by a narrow plank-bridge. The stream was there no more than a winding black ribbon, bordered with leaning alder-trees. A mile or two further south they hastily crossed the great road from the Brandywine Bridge; they were now in the Tookland and bending south-eastwards they made for the Green Hill Country. You have walked 21.2 miles.
You have passed Neekerbreeker Pond.
It is 189.8 miles to the next landmark.
You have 394.4 miles to reach Rivendell.

They spent a miserable day in this lonely and unpleasant country. Their camping-place was damp, cold, and uncomfortable; and the biting insects would not let them sleep. There were also abominable creatures haunting the reeds and tussocks that from the sound of them were evil relatives of the cricket. There were thousands of them, and they squeaked all round, neek-breek, breek-neek, unceasingly all the night, until the hobbits were nearly frantic.

May God bless you.

Now that my husband is walking with me it is easier to get my walks in but not every day cause he don't want to walk every day. I well have to go today weather he does or not so I can at least get in three days this week.

As they began to climb its first slopes they looked back and saw the lamps in Hobbiton far off twinkling in the gentle valley of the Water. Soon it disappeared in the folds of the darkened land, and was followed by Bywater beside its grey pool. When the light of the last farm was far behind, peeping among the trees, Frodo turned and waved a hand in farewell.

'I don't know what stories you mean,' Merry answered. 'If you mean the old bogey-stories Fatty's nurses used to tell him, about goblins and wolves and things of that sort, I should say no. At any rate I don't believe them. But the Forest is queer. Everything in it is very much more alive, more aware of what is going on, so to speak, than things are in the Shire. And the trees do not like strangers. They watch you. They are usually content merely to watch you, as long as daylight lasts, and don't do much. Occasionally the most unfriendly ones may drop a branch, or stick a root out, or grasp at you with a long trailer. But at night things can be most alarming, or so I am told. I have only once or twice been in here after dark, and then only near the hedge. I thought all the trees were whispering to each other, passing news and plots along in an unintelligible language; and the branches swayed and groped without any wind. They do say the trees do actually move, and can surround strangers and hem them in. In fact long ago they attacked the Hedge: they came and planted themselves right by it, and leaned over it. But the hobbits came and cut down hundreds of trees, and made a great bonfire in the Forest, and burned all the ground in a long strip east of the Hedge. After that the trees gave up the attack, but they became very unfriendly. There is still a wide bare space not far inside where the bonfire was made.'You have walked 9.;4 miles.

When his eyes were in turn uncovered, Frodo looked up and caught his breath. They were standing in an open space. To the left stood a great mound, covered with a sward of grass as green as Spring-time in the Elder Days. Upon it, as a double crown, grew two circles of trees: the outer had bark of snowy white, and were leafless but beautiful in their shapely nakedness; the inner were mallorn-trees of great height, still arrayed in pale gold. High amid the branches of a towering tree that stood in the centre of all there gleamed a white flet. At the feet of the trees, and all about the green hillsides the grass was studded with small golden flowers shaped like stars. Among them, nodding on slender stalks, were other flowers, white and palest green: they glimmered as a mist amid the rich hue of the grass. Over all the sky was blue, and the sun of afternoon glowed upon the hill and cast long green shadows beneath the trees.

'Behold! You are come to Cerin Amroth,' said Haldir. `For this is the heart of the ancient realm as it was long ago, and here is the mound of Amroth, where in happier days his high house was built. Here ever bloom the winter flowers in the unfading grass: the yellow elanor, and the pale niphredil. Here we will stay awhile, and come to the city of the Galadhrim at dusk.'

May God bless you.

Ahhh I can't believe you don't miss that. Mine are all freshwater. The ones I have that rarely get water changes are very heavy with live plants and understocked and they are 5g, 6g and one 29 gallon.
My 75 and 55 have to have twice a week water changes.
I could see a salt water being a lot more work. Got to stay more on top of those.

May God bless you.

Some people are not cut out for the hobby. And some people get the wrong info or over stock and that makes it no fun. Bigger the tank the less work it is. Its true.
I have three tanks I don't have to do a thing to. Top over once a week and do water changes about every 3 months. But it takes a while to learn the ins and outs of that sort of set up with live plants low lights, low tech and no co2.
Maybe a betta in a 2 to 5 gallon tank might be more your style. You can even take them with you. lol
But no it is not bad. As I said not everyone is cut out for the fish keeping hobby. My hubby likes to look at the fish and feed them but wont lift a finger to help care for them. lol

May God bless you.

Or I may keep up with it here too exercise.lbl.gov I just think the LOTR one would be more fun.
I also found this one www.mapmywalk.com/ but looks a little complicated. Maybe use it later.
So here I am this morning.
