1) Wear a Fitbit, or other calorie tracker! Really helps COUNT the cals you're burning!

2) I'm trying to bounce more on my mini-trampoline, and swing my kettlebell more!

Fitness ideas that could burn 3500 calories?

That's 500 extra cals/day, 7 days a week.

This is NOT gonna happen with minimal additional activities...

Competitive basketball, yes, but A LOT of it.

Where can I learn basketball rules and play? I was in a women's league, but the others were all 20-somethings and could give a crap about me. They had "Title 11"- (Title XXI) girls' basketball. Those of us 50+ did not.

You have to get a serious workout to burn 500 cals. With 1 or 2 rest days per week, that's "only" 2500 cals- IF you work out 5x 500.

You'd have to burn 700 calories 5 days a week to hit 3500. Not realistic for most of us. And certainly not by burning an extra 50-100 cals here and there.

Gotta go do chores!

I leave my workout clothes on for awhile after I'm done and then clean the house.
I work quickly and actually get sweaty! Think about it; there's a lot of lifting and bending and reaching involved... emoticon

Also, I used to plan my walking around my house doing chores so that I could be efficient and take the smallest amount of steps. Now I take as many steps as possible!

Take clean laundry upstairs one item at a time - not time efficient, but good for the glutes.

Competitive basketball. I am in a 30&over league. If only I can injury free!

Also, I go to health club around 8-10PM, instead of sitting in front of the TV eating junk food! I even catch up on my TV on the cardio machines! Burning calories instead of eating them! Don't worry, I don't EXERCISE for two hours, that includes commute time, shower time, and is just my window.

I’m new to this team and glad to find an active team. I hope to be inspired and to inspire others.

I’m starting with walking (for Cardio), then light weights (for Strength, maybe 10# or 15#.

For a Fun Cardio I like to do Core Rhythms or Zumba!

Learn the sun salutation routine in yoga. Do a couple repetitions each day.

Play some music and just dance!

When sitting at your desk on the computer....instead of sitting on a chair....sit on a stability/fitness ball. It engages those core muscles the whole time and that counts!!!
