It's supposed to be a continuation of her first cymbal dvd, with different rhythms. At $50 I'll have to wait on this one. Frankly, I'm crazy about Z-Helene's zill video and think nothing can compare, but I'm biased :)
Now that review really surprises me, or at least the last part, about making your dancing look less western. Apart from her mother, I honestly can't imagine a MORE western-looking dancer than Ansuya! Unless you count the tribal movement.
I went to a workshop where she taught some of the combos she used in the new DVD. I thought they were cute, and seemed to borrow more from the folkloric tradition, which I like. Wouldn't call them particularly "not western" though ...
I just got All New Hot Belly Dance Combinations with Ansuya.
So far it looks pretty good. She breaks moves down from the front side and back which is helpful but it would have been better if she did the moves in front of a mirror.
I'm not very advanced so it did introduce me to a few new things. I also love to learn the Arabic names of the moves and how to make my dancing look less western, she does a pretty good job of doing that.
Overall, I think its worth adding to one's collection, esp. if you are an Ansuya fan like me! It was 27.00 on Amazon.
