Some time ago there was a Metamucil Challenge for lowering Cholesterol. Has anyone tried it? Think I am going to see if I can find it and give it a try.

Tired of all this other 'stuff' the doc keeps pushing my way, I told them I won't take.

Ask, and it shall be given to you;
Seek, and you shall find;
Knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Matthew 7:7

Now the Beroeans were more noble minded than those in Thessalonica, for they recieved the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so. Act 17:11

I have a poor cholesterol balance. Doctor says the blood work puts me at high risk because the good one is too low, even though the high one is in the looooowwww part of the "normal" range. She suggested krill. I've been on it for 6th months and haven't had to go to meds for it. Still working on bringing the good levels up though...but it's apparently helping the balance.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Pat. I was wondering how long to try the krill oil and how much weight loss before I repeat blood work. Doc recommended meds, but I wanted to try to bring it down without them.

I use Mega reds Krill oil and so does my DH.

I use Flax seed, it is natural and has no chemicals. I only use the ground or milled flax seed and I use it in my oatmeal. My cholesterol is slowly getting down.Pat in Maine.

Hi. I have been taking krill oil for about 6 weeks for dry eyes. I read that it may help lower cholesterol. I am also trying Metamucil three times a day. (In addition to exercising more and getting some weight off.)

I wonder if anyone here has seen results from either of these?
