I have to comment on this topic! In 2003 I had a heard attack attributed to clogged arteries. Since then I gave up 2 Cokes a day,1+ packs of cigarettes daily, all salt, cut down half on meat and am adding tofu and other healthy alternatives to my diet. The one thing that is proving to be by far the hardest to change is butter. I've tried all the healthy brands. I can tolerate Parkay spray. But when I slip and NEED butter I go for Smart Balance 50/50 blend sticks. Can't tell it from all real butter. Hopefully someday I can wean myself off this too. But I haven't been able to for 6 years now.
It has been a struggle all the way...but so happy to be half way there! I forgot to add that the reason that I use Smart Balance is not only that it is healthier, but I think it taste great & I can use the sticks to cook with, so it's a win-win situation!

Okay. Mine is not a spread, I use smart balance 50/50 butter blend. Put it in a dish and it get s soft. I have been following a no hydrogenated oils and no fructose corn syrup eating program and have lost inches. These two are not in the butter. i even used it in my cookies and it works. It has flaxseed and omega in it. For flaxseed, I found powdered flaxseed and use it in my oatmeal or fruit smoothie.
