I love the South Beach diet. When I have been on a plateau I switch to the Phase 1 and start to loss again.

I am still struggling to get enough fiber and follow the South Beach diet.
My new favorite breakfast is fat free light yogurt with 12 almonds. the almonds do have fiber. In fact I ate this again yesterday before I went to a 5p.m. meeting, so that I wouldn't eat there.
I have one more week on the South Beach phase1, and I can start adding in things like fruit and whole grains.

I try to get 35 gm of fiber a day. It helps with so many issues that I will never go back to low fiber. I usually supplement with fibersure. Thanks for the site it has some great info!

I use the SP tracker to track my fiber too. I eat a lot of veggie and include a flax muffin every 2-3 days. That seems to be working for me. emoticon

I do track my fiber on the nutrition tracker. I find that I feel better too when I have more fiber....I have IBS too so the fiber helps.

That is really interesting but I am working out of a book recommended on lowering cholesterol that suggests another product. I'm starting slowly but it seems to be working. You are right in adding the extra water too.

I looked at the website and it seems a great place to check out the diet. Thanks for posting.

I mentioned somewhere that I wanted to make a goal out of eating a minimum of 25 grams of fiber. Somebody was tracking it in the nutrition page notes.

I found a website that would evaluate what you do in an average month. I think i listed less than what I ate and still came up with results greater than 25 grams. There is a lot of other info about fiber, but it is the website for Citrucel. They have a coupon as well.
www.citrucel.com/Ch1_FiberCalc.aspx

I have a friend that dropped her cholesterol a lot on a competing product, but I bought this with a coupon and am hopeful that it works the same. I am finding I need to increase my water even more than the 8 cups.
