Read the labels closely. There are many on the market now that have had the mercury removed. Plus, the wild-caught salmon has much lower mercury to begin with. Never eat farm-raised fish since the feed they are given has high levels of mercury and other contaminates in it. We've got to do our research and be label aware.

omega-3 fatty acids could be in fish or plant/nut based
lowers your triglycerides,and lowers the hardening of the arteries it also lowers blood pressure, Because my diabetes is genetic I can have the perfect diet and my triglycerides will not go down so I need to take it. I take the plant based flaxseed because I am vegan and it is safer because of the high mercury found in fish...

I don't know but the cardiologist recommended them and specified wild salmon oil tablets
