My daughter said she has heard from many people about the benefits of using apple cider vinegar for many different reasons, but had specific friend used the raw apple cider vinegar (taking 2-3 tbs. 2-3 times a day) to help w/ some painful cysts in her uterus. The pain meds the dr had given her weren't really working and her mother had read somewhere about how it helps w/ intestinal & other internal issues. She checked w/ her dr and he said to go ahead & try it. It worked wonderfully.
The gal who took it & my daughter were discussing this in a group & some of the other women mentioned that they used it to help w/ perimenopausal symptoms. (Reason for me asking if anyone else has known about this.).
My daughter said that it should be the actual raw apple cider vinegar b/c it is more beneficial and also mentioned that it can be found in natural health food stores.
I'm going to try to find out some more, maybe asking the owner of the health food store I've gone to before.
If anyone knows anything else re: it, please pass on the inf. Thanks to all of you for your input. I really appreciate it!

I haven't heard of this either, but I do remember years ago I tried apple cider vinegar for something else, and it had horrible results on my stomach.

Interesting story, Cindy. I've heard, for ages, that Apple Cider vinegar can do lots of wondrous things. However, raw? And, how much of it does one need to drink and with what?

Tobi, I've not heard of this claim.
However a few years back I was with a friend in a place that had allot of smokers and I am allergic to 2nd hand smoking it gives me a headache when I'm around some one who does, and this situation I was, & it gave me a bad headache. My friend said here drink this apple vinegar that she had put in water and just stay close to the bathroom, I did & I was surprise my headache was gone. But it also cleans you out, that's the purpose of staying close to the bathroom.

I haven't heard anything about it and I subscribe to a blog on perimenopause which has provided me with a great deal of information (wished I'd had it 2 yrs ago!).

The question for me is "why is it supposed to help?" -- I've heard claims about adding fresh squeezed lemon juice to my water every day for the benefit of my liver??? It would seem that both the cider vinegar & lemon juice are similar. There are plenty of "health" sites that speak to "detoxification" as well as balancing out our systems if the body PH is out of balance.

* make sure to note pg 2 for cautions & concerns!

* some interesting claims

I'm NOT promoting any of the above; merely providing a couple of sites to check for your own interest in this topic.

Has anyone heard about taking raw cider vinegar to help w/ multiple symptoms of perimenopause? It's said to help w/ hot flashes, cramping, even extra bloating & gas. I did a search here, but looks like there hasn't been any discussion about it yet. My daughter was in a discussion w/ a group of older women and a few of them said it really helped.
