Most of my stairs are not counted. My desk is on the 4th floor, but I work in labs on the 1st and 6th floors. I don't count this stair work as my cardio minutes, but I do count my steps for the day so I do account for the exercise somewhere.
There are days where I do stairs for my cardio workout. On campus at the local university, there are a couple of flights of stairs that are at least 4 or five stories in length. Some days I do my workout on those stairs. In these instances, there are a few choices: step-ups (but i don't choose this because the movement is different), stair machine, or hiking (cross country or hills with less than 10 pounds). My choice depends on the intensity of my workout. It's the best estimate I can make.
I wish SP had stairs specifically in the tracker.
