Thanks, Arkann. It took a couple of years--the 218 was almost 40 pounds from my starting weight. In the last 2 years I've lost only 3 pounds or so. I need to lose another 25 but I am determined that even if I don't I won't gain that 75 pounds back!

Wow, Barbara, looks like you are doing Great on your weight loss. I needed to see that today as I had 85 to lose and have only lost 6 since the first. When I lose 10 maybe I;ll have a sliver of cheesecake! emoticon

I also make a dynamite cheesecake, but luckily for me, I don't get as many occasions to make it. I made one for my son's birthday earlier this month and I was very tempted to try the low fat cream cheese but I was afraid it would affect the taste or texture.

One good thing is that I have gotten to the point where I am able to have a very small sliver the first and maybe second day, and then I just don't touch it again and let others finish it off.

I make desserts so seldom that when I do, I tend not to concentrate on making it healthy. If I'm doing healthy I usually stick with sorbet and fruit.

I use a similar recipe and get suckered into making it for birthdays as well. I did switch to fat free cream cheese and no one seemed to notice. (I personally don't like cheesecake so I have to go by what the critics tell me. LOL)

Hubby LOVES cheesecake, but he can't have this kind anymore due to a medically necessary diet. I have a completely different recipe for him...But it's a much lighter cake and the taste is affected. (Not that he says it isn't good, just different.)

i baked an amazing cheesecake this 16th of January, before starting my diet and everyone LOVED it. the thing is, it was full of calories... and people already invited me to do it again on the next 3 b'days: 1, 7 an 10 of february.

i've been measuring the calories, and for each serving (12 people) itęs around 380kcal, wich is too much for a single serving, specially if people eat 2 servings.

i was thinking in wich way i should change the recipe. like, will light cream cheese take less calories and be tasty as well?

the thing is i want less calories, but i want the same tastiness.

here's the recipe i did
