it's your dog..

on to next subject..I never thought of making a clam (or seafood) chowder from my potato soup..that sounds good. Maybe I will try this weekend as I do have some potato soup left..and shrimp! Good idea Shirl!

Thank you, Amanda.
If you have any leftovers I think this would convert to a great clam chowder for a new take on it. That is one thing I do with leftover potato soup, but have to add the ham. Yours already has it. I may have posted another recipe with shrimp and crab in it that I use my leftover potato soup for. I plan leftovers, can you tell? emoticon

tis the season..and the weather is sure cooperating!

My recipe is real similiar, but I like a very thick soup..and I add extra chese. I took some to work for lunch 2 or 3 days last week. Great with a salad on the side!

Mystic-what have you done to that poor puppy?! (I'm not a real big fan of doggie-jackets!)

Sounds good. I like easy soups for lunch in the winter.

I might add onions and finely diced celery. I always liked that in potato soup.

I made it with skim milk and it was still delicious and creamy.

I think I'll try this. Maybe with 1% milk? I'll be doubling it cuz my FIN and husband are big eaters.

Miss Connie, we didn't get 8 servings out of it either! I thought we would have leftovers and I could have some for lunch today, but alas, DH and I ate the whole pot of soup!

This is what I made for dinner last night:

allrecipes.com/Recipe/Delicious-Ham-
an
d-Potato-Soup/Detail.aspx

It's a little high cal/fat, but it is SO FILLING, you don't need much of it and I didn't even need crackers/bread w/ it like I usually have. Great for a cold night!
