I lost 2 lbs this week, .5 of an inch from my waist, and all that brings me a 1/4th of the way to my goal weight! :)
I'm happy that I've started this before heading to Nursing School this Fall because it is easier to form the habit now than it would be when I'm stressing! haha

LISSES07 - congrats on keeping in your calorie range and your weight loss progress thus far! How did you cook the turnips so that your kids like them?

Been sticking to my caloric goals everyday, with the exception of a weekly cheat day. I dont go completely out of control, but I do indulge a bit more. I think this helps trick my metabolism. Also have been reaching my goal of trying a new vegetable based dish each week. My kids requested turnips! I'm down a total of 15lbs since Jan 1. But...I still havent been exercising! I know a tough plateau is right around the corner if I dont start and be consistent!

Congratulations on getting your exercise in this week. It's tough to do in the the winter, especially when there are other obligations like school. But, you feel so much better when you do!

I haven't really been exercising with the winter weather around here. But this week, I've rode my elliptical twice for 20 minutes, and in the past two days, I've walked 5 miles. I feel pretty good. My goal was to walk 10 miles by the end of February, so I think I might reach that goal and go beyond. That's the hope anyway,

I began the Couch To 5K Program (C25K) which is a 9 week interval training program to get people who were couch potatoes to runners. It is 3 times a week about 30 min, gradually increasing intensity by the week. I am in the middle of week one. Hope it goes well!

Well since I am not currently working and am recuperating from surgery done the end of July and have bursitis of my right shoulder. I figured I would give some serious thought to dieting and weight loss. I started on September 1st and have been keeping count of my calorie intake using the nutrition tracker and for workout I have been working out 5 days a week using my Sweating to the Oldies I and II CD-ROM's and getting a 30 minute cardio workout. I put my measurements and weight on the tracking tool and this coming Tuesday will be my first weekly weigh-in and waist/hip measurements I can't wait to see what the results will be. Looking forward to a new me down the line Woohoo!

That's great MOMOFCEK!!! My dad's friend has digestion issues and I too have increased my fiber and water intake. Planning out meals the night before surely does help in staying in range. I start class in a few weeks, but today we have an orientation for level 1 clinicals and some other things to take care of, so I planned out everything last night, so this morning I knew exactly what to eat. I feel like I'm in elementary school again because I packed my lunch in a Twilight lunchbox! But if it helps me to stay on track with my ranges, then I dont mind! Good luck this semester :)

Once I figured out that I can't eat all day long and then post my food and see the damage done, I started planning my food the day before. I work on trying to monkey food around so that I can meet my goals. I have become intentional about it. I've even set goals within my ranges that SP set for me, and try to meet those goals, not that I do every day, but I've done well even with that. Now, for about maybe 2-3 weeks, I have been meeting all my nutritional goals every day: calories, carbs, fats, proteins, fiber, and usually my water. Fiber is one that I added b/c I see so many people on my surgical unit that come in with completely jacked up intestines. I'd like to avoid that, and so I'm trying to keep up my fiber and water intake as a form of preventative measure. Yes, I'm tooting my own horn a little bit, but I'm really excited about the changes I've made. School starts up again in just a few short weeks. Hopefully, I've made this enough of a habit that I don't go downhill over the last 4 months until graduation. Too much progress has been made to loose footing now!

I finally started working out again. I'm starting out with a YBB Cabaret style dance workout. It's pretty high energy and fun. I'm starting out really slow. I also did an ab workout that I want to do atleast 5 times/week.

I have made some major changes in my exercising this July...I made a blog on my exercise goals and rewards and made it public for the spark world to see. This has actually worked for me. I needed something besides the scale to reward myself on. You are more then welcome to check out my blog called "Workout Plans for July 2009" on my sparkpage. Good luck to all.

I've lost 16 pounds since starting the spark program in January. I use the nutrition tracker daily, log all of my workouts, and also use a food scale to measure out my portions. This site and the community has been so helpful and a great motivator. In the past I've always failed in my weight loss attempts because of all-or-nothing thinking. The site has really taught me that it's okay to have bad days and not to give up when experiencing setbacks.
