Burger King used to be my place of choice over Mcd's or Wendy's. When DH was diagnosed high blood pressure & high cholesterol and went red meat free - I did too. But I would crave a whopper jr about 2-3 times a year. Since, I have read on SP ALL the products of BK are higher calorie, fat, sodium than all the others - Wendy's being the lowest most often... No wonder I like it so well... emoticon
Recently I had a craving and planned to get a jr - I drove by 2 BK's and just kept on driving... emoticon

I only go to any fast food place with my grandson and only about 4 times a year...fast food is not my thing, but ice cream is a different story. Many of you have read my blog about eating the whole carton of ice cream, never again will I even buy a whole carton of ice cream!

My husband and I went to Burger King recently and I had a whopper! As we were walking out, I noticed a chart that had the calories, salt (and other things) in the food Burger King sells. One whopper has an EXTREME amount of salt in it and the calories are unreal!! I will always read this chart before I order anything at Burger King other than a salad.
I prefer Burger King over MacDonalds any day but this sure was a wake up call. love, Darlene

Welcome, BLACKBERRYHILLJ! You will LOVE this team! I've been so very, very encouraged! And good for you to dive in so quickly. It took me at least 2 weeks before I even attempted going to the community. Will be praying for you to have WONDERFUL success! Blessings!

I am new to SparkPeople as of a few days ago, but already I'm enjoying the encouragement. Dairy Queen isn't my thing, but I have noticed that this week I've not had a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie when offered (and they're my favorite) and stopped eating when my plate was empty and sat and waited to see if I really wanted (or needed) seconds before automatically taking more. I've reaffirmed that my body is the temple of God and that I have to take care of it, I have been taking things more seriously. Thanks for your input.

Good job, Susan. A little research goes a long way.

Good for you! I love SP too! It is a godsend!
I used to do DQ too and I still love it but those calories are crazy!
Glad you had a good time!

May God richly bless you!

I think that SPARKPEOPLE is one of the BEST sites of all time! I'm SO, SO thrilled with what God is doing in my heart and how He is using SparkPeople to change my habits/lifestyle!

Last night we were suppose to go for a picnic with some dear friends but at the last minute our plans got changed and we decided to meet at Dairy Queen instead and walk along Lake Superior. Well, I quickly went to DQ's website and looked over their nutritional information. I WAS IN SHOCK!!!!!!!! A medium "Turtle Pecan Cluster Blizzard" [which I've ordered NUMEROUS times in my life!!!!] had over 1000 calories and 59 GRAMS OF FAT!!!!!! And I had ABSOLUTELY no desire whatsoever to get one of those things which is HUGE and a small beginning to a LIFE full of changes!

I got a baby chocolate cone dipped in chocolate! 220 calories and 9 grams of fat, PLUS I walked off quite a few of those calories as we ate our cones. I was COMPLETELY and 100% satisfied [and wasn't AT ALL tempted by the guy's choice of Peanut Buster Parfait--700 calories and 30 grams of fat] and giving thanks to JESUS for His abundant grace and mercy!

{{{love and hugs}}}
