Not much time left.

Still training for my June half and my May 10K but there is no specific measure of success for my April running goal anymore.

Still working on the batwings challenge, but I feel like I'm losing ground on the pushups - yesterday and Wednesday, I hit failure way earlier than usual. Just feeling weak... But I could still make it to 100 before Tuesday...

I think I had a pretty good month, even if I didn't follow my goals :).
I got in quite a few workouts of many types, grew out my nails a little bit, and did a lot of house renovations. Yah!

Eighty pushups is awesome! That is certainly going to help your arms :).

Here is a spark article about soreness after WT, I think it might help your question

I think we need more authors that delve into the world around us!

Oh, teaching kids about bugs reminded me that a friend of mine who is a children's book author just published a book about dung beetles. She rocks.

Okay, two of my three goals are already off the tracks.

Batwings challenge going okay. I haven't done the assisted pull-up machine yet this summer, but my pushup count is 80, and I've been doing upper body strength training every other day like clockwork. I'm working to failure but not having any soreness between workouts, so I'm thinking maybe I can up it to two-a-days. If I don't have that dull ache, I haven't stressed the muscle fibers as much as I might have, right? Is that just a myth?

Middlebury Maple Run is off the calendar. My church is going to have a meeting to vote on whether to sell our ancient building (which is costing us $3000 a month just to heat and we can't afford it) and it's going to be a contentious meeting because people have grown up in this building and I'm the finance secretary and the congregational meeting just got scheduled for the Sunday of my Maple Run. Third time I've signed up for this half and not run it. Oh, well. Still on track for my Strawberry Shortcake run and will sign up after this week's paycheck for the Catamount half (that supports the Youth Services organization where the lovely Mark works).

My Messier marathon was cancelled by heavy clouds this past weekend, but it wasn't a particularly awesome goal anyway. I think I'm just going to drop the third goal for the month and see if being more focused on fewer goals pays off.

I think that sounds pretty reasonable Greb. Let us know how the race goes!

This month is off to a good start for me. I got in a ball/bosu cardio strenght class, a kickbox class, and a strength and stair run workout. Yah. I also got in a few AM walks but the cold and rain had me hiding inside most mornings.

This week, the plan is the same. It helps that we now have about 5 people I work with going to the two classes and my workout buddy and I do the Friday Strength and stairs.

STEM goal- I have some Science Ambassador event this month. I will be going to some local shelters/tutoring locations to teach the kids about bugs.

I'm dropping the diet goal for this month - I'm pretty happy with my eating habits, and the locavore thing is just hard in Massachusetts once all the storage veggies are used up but there's still snow covering the spring greens. So two fitness challenges for me:
emoticon
A strength challenge, to combat my batwings. I'm most of the way through the 100 pushups challenge and it seems like I've been there for a decade. This month I complete that challenge, and I return to the assisted pull-up machine in the effort to regain my childhood capacity to lift my weight with my arms. I will post my pushup count and my counterbalance weight here weekly, 'cause I need the accountability.

Middlebury Maple Run is going to be a run/walk, but I'm still committed to the spring half. I stay with the training schedule I'm on (but behind) with goals of the www.strawberryshortcakerace.com/inde
x.
htm
and www.catamounthm.com/ .

As for a nerd goal, I think I'm just going to attempt a Messier marathon. It was supposed to be during the new moon last weekend, but it was a weekend of all-nighters as it was. This coming weekend I have quiet time and I think I'll just escape to the dark sky of my favorite campground in Vermont with my trusty 'scope and a few thermoses of hot tea and have at it.

Ooh, wall sits. I dunno how you do that. I find all isometric exercises to be a kind of torture. At least when I'm moving, I'm distracted from the discomfort in my muscles by the need for coordination! Good luck with your goals.

Okay I am going simple this month.
1. Treat my nails 2x per day and stop picking on them.
2. Wall sit 2x/week (challenge!)
3. Daily walks/jogs 4x/week
