I had my first bite of ice cream in 5 weeks. I made cookies a couple of days ago, and they're here in plain sight. Yesterday my mom asked me to make her an ice cream sandwich with two of the cookies (they're sort of like a waffle cone so go well with ice cream). Ever since, I've been wanting one, so I had ONE cookie and TWO tablespoons of ice cream. I'm praying this doesn't set me off onto a binge. I need to pack up most of those cookies, they're going to my son in Iraq. I got the box for them today, so off they go tomorrow! Calorie-wise it's OK that I had that, but I have a weakness for sweets, especially ice cream.

I didn't see this until just now, so didn't take you up on the challenge today. Maybe omorrow. But I usually do have several types of nuts at work, had some almonds mid afternoon, and some raisins mid morning. Not sure what snack will be tonight. Maybe an oranage and a bit of cheddar....

I had a late breakfast at 9am, then an early lunch at 11:30, so no snack needed this am, then I had a garden salad with balsamic vinegar at 3pm, dinner at 5:30, sugar free jello and 3 oz of plain yogurt at 8pm. Sodium higher than usual today but still only 1330mg. Calories a bit over 1500.

emoticon I usually try to have a snack of fruit or vegetable juice mid-morning and mid-afternoon. I have trouble getting enough potassium and these snacks boost the count.

Had some lean meat and cheese (all low sodium) for mid morning. Will have some egg whites and low-sodium crackers for mid-afternoon. Might have a small bowl of cereal and soy milk for an evening snack, don't know yet.

Happy Wednesday to you!

Your week is halfway over. How are you holding up? Are you needing more energy around 10am & 4pm each day? Maybe you should consider spreading your calories throughout the day with smaller meals AND snacks.

Your challenge today is to EAT TWO HEALTHY SNACKS (3 if you can). Have one in the morning after your body has used the energy from your breakfast. Have a healthy snack during the late afternoon when your body is starting to get tired, and dinner won't be for a few hours.

Many folks swear by eating three smaller meals and two healthy snacks a day. Give it a try. You just might find out that this works beautifully with your hectic schedule.

Remember to keep it low sodium!

Have a great Wednesday!
