emoticon emoticon Was just looking and saw that we are now at 101% for our fitness minutes for the month of July, and 234% for our SparkPoints. emoticon We are also at 70% for goals for the mind, and 80% for goals for the soul and spirit! emoticon

emoticon GLAMBERTS ROCK! emoticon

Thought I'd share with you what my goal achievements have been this week.

Fitness Minutes and Spark Points - emoticon

Goal for my Mind- I love to read and always have. I used to carry a book with me wherever I went. However, it's been a good 6 months since I've read a book and they've been piling up. When my life got turned upside down in January, it brought about a long stretch of major depression and anxiety. It was so bad that my concentration level was reduced to next to nothing so I literally was incapable of sitting and reading a book and retaining anything. It was SO FRUSTRATING for me, who used to read a novel in 2-3 days, to not even be able to read a chapter and remember what I had just read. Even though my concentration has started getting better, the book pile was continuing to grow and I wasn't doing any reading until the other night. I actually scheduled an appointment (earned a point
emoticon ) with myself to turn off the computer, turn off the tv, stop whatever else I was doing and read. I told myself if I could only manage to concentrate for 10 minutes, it would be better than not at all. I actually read for an hour and I've done that the last two days. WHAT A GREAT FEELING!

Goal for my soul- Random act of kindness for one of my neighbors, clicking for a cause, encouraged SparkFriends who were having a rough week.

Goal for my spirit- I took a first step by reconnecting with an old and dear friend of mine which whom I'd lost touch with. I called her on Tuesday and we actually visited for 4 hours Wednesday. Tuesday I also threw caution to the wind and pretended like I was 21 again and didn't care what time I was going out, getting in, or what time I had to get up in the morning. I took my niece and nephew to the midnight premier of the new Harry Potter movie. Granted, I'm far from those days where those things don't matter. I can't go out every night and manage on 3 hours of sleep and still function. But, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and while my niece and nephew still think I'm super cool and want to go to the movies with me, I'm going to jump at the chance! We had a blast!

ALL OF YOU ARE THE BEST! I couldn't ask for better team mates and I love all of you too! I am so excited about the new goals and even more excited that you are excited about them too!!!

LOL, I knew YOU were an overachiever Diane (yes you!) right off the bat from one of your very first posts on the find a word game! LOL (What was it? Dang! He is good! emoticon )

That title of that book sounds intriguing. I will have to search it. Perhaps another one to add to my pile of books I want to read.

That is the SWEETEST story ever, not to mention the most pleasant encounter that I've heard of that has ever taken place at a Walmart! :) Glad the yellow smiley falling prices weren't the only faces smiling! emoticon

Ahhh...nothing like I walk with a "quiet" mind. It's amazing how much nature has to say when your mind is quiet and you can hear. ENJOY!

Oh, I love our leader too, and I've been thinking about mine since she put the feelers out about some "unique" goals!!

I've joined all five goals. For this week.......
1 & 2 - yep!

3. Goal for the Mind - reading "good for me" books!
I routinely read books for my mind, soul, and spirit. So it's an "easy" goal maybe - but it's an awfully "good" goal! Right now, I'm reading "When Everything Changes, Change Everything".

4. Goal for the Soul - random acts of kindness!
Thanks for the suggestion of that. Because nothing makes my soul sing more! In fact, I helped a man at Walmart with his wife's list including an accordion file. "I thought that was an instrument!" he says. He said he was Great Great ("2 greats!") Grandpa John and was 83 years old. After I helped him find and pick one out for Grandma, he asked my name and said to tell my hubby to give me a raise because I'm a good one. He was so cute, I smiled for hours afterward. LOL

5. Goal for the Spirit - a walk with a "quiet" mind.
To walk while actually feeling at one with the entire Universe and NO mind chatter (none of that annoying mental list-making!). I want to center myself and feel the well-being coursing through me!

Go Glamberts!! emoticon

You know, people are going to want to join this team even if they aren't Adam fans! Oh wait, there can't be anyone like that, can there??

So, I have a couple new goals for the coming week that I would like to lay the groundwork for here.

1) Ramp my pilates workout up from the 20 min to 45 min, still the 3 days a week.

2) Work on changing my relationship with the scale. I'm going to weigh myself every other day at different times throught out the day and log my weights. Not doing this to obsess about my weight, but just so I am able to see how easy and how often weight does/can change. Hoping this will make me less afraid of the scale and allow me to look at other ways I'm making progress and not just go by what the scale shows.

Share your goal or goals for today or for the week here. I've found sharing my goals with others make me feel more accountable.

Maybe you will inspire a team mate with your goal, or perhaps you just might find yourself being the one who gets inspired!
