BECKNWA, let us know how they work for you. I've been wanting some myself. I'm also going to find some orange clear cellophane-type stuff to cover my MBR thermostat and clock (they're blue, so it'd be red). I have a red night light in the bathroom, but close the door. Anyway, good luck!

Ordered myself some blue blocker glasses today. I'll start wearing them from the time I get off work until I get to bed. Maybe that will help some. I already sleep in a pitch black room. Winter isn't bad. It's dark in the AM, but light by the time my youngest (11) heads off to school, and I am usually still awake. Summer sucks for sleep. No school, bright AM sun. But I've been living this way for over 4 years. Oh well.

Slept good Saturday, so my weekend went well. Monday AM, I got a solid 4 hours, then woke and couldn't get back to sleep. I will have to nap before work (10PM).

Got home from work about 6:30 am. My SIL came over and we did a heavy strength workout. I took a 2 hour nap, but didn't really try to sleep long. Went to bed at 9pm (my night off) and slept almost 10 hours, with one bathroom break (that's rare for me, I usually do several). Woke up feeling pretty good this morning. So I started my 30 day "sleep" challenge positively.

You guys are all doing great things! How can we not help but reach the goals we desire by pressing on day by day. It sure helps to know you're not alone, doesn't it?

Yeah, the rest is soooo important. For me, sometimes I am stronger in one area of the lifestyle and at other times, it may show up as a weakness. When you get tired, it's so easy to "tank" somewhere.

In my heart? Got your backs, ladies! Thanks for being in my corner, too!

My biggest tweak this 30 day stretch won't have anything to do with my eating. I've been doing OK on that since New Years. I work the graveyard shift, and my sleeping habits are horrible. This 30 day challenge for me will be attempting to fix bad sleep issues. I figure if I keep tweaking enough variables, eventually I'll figure me out!

GG I'm happy you're doing this. For me, it's kind of like watching a science experiment that isn't my own. I haven't enough objectivity for my own science experiment. (c:

I am committed to the cause, though! Consider yourself having a partner in crime, all the way down here in Texas. I post my food on my tracker every few days, just to see where I'm at. I know exactly what you mean about the obsessive diet mentality.

Well heck, I can do that. I already am! I'm checking in every Sunday by writing a blog about the previous week. I'll try to focus more on what I'm eating and how, but I am tracking my meals, and those are visible on my page. Thanks!

I think it can be a little different for everyone and some of our resident long timers on this board would be probably better at answering this, but here is how I am doing it:

I started a blog. That's a new one for me! It is keeping me honest and focused on eating Primal/Paleo for 30 days and getting my exercise, weight lifting in. I keep a calendar and check off the days I work out, hike/walk. I thought, "I can do anything for 30 days only!"

I do have my measurements recorded (not there but in my personal part of my spark page). I will weigh weekly, measure at the end of 30 days. I won't be documenting all my food every day but sometimes. For me, all the documenting puts me back into a diet/WW mentality and then I become obsessive. It works for others and that's great, but not for me. I want this to become a LIFESTYLE which would not entail daily traking for me. It would become something I just naturally "live." That's just me. Again, best to chat with the other's here to get input that may help YOU. We are all different!

So that's about it from my perspective. You just start eating and living Paleo and document your journey as honestly as possible and have the joy of seeing some results in 30 days!

Good luck!

GREAT ADVICE!! Yeah, it was a total typo. Ha Ha Ha! At least if I was going to refer to a year, it could be a REAL year...not 5 days short for cryin' out loud!!

I may do more than one 30 day challenge until it becomes 2nd nature.

We'll see!

Well first off, blogging is a great way to be accountable - to others and to yourself! A lifestyle change this big deserves a little obsessiveness. You want to be able to do it without thinking, and it can take a while to hammer new habits into your subconscious.

Which brings me to my second point - did you really mean to type "390 day challenge"??? It's close to 365 I guess! Maybe do 30 day chunks so it doesn't seem so long! hahaha! I'm sure it was a typo but it made me laugh!

I see you decided to blog on your page, day by day. I think that is a great idea! I will be tuning in daily, reading about all your successes and the not so successful things! You can do it!

So, you guys...I think I want to do it! How and where does this happen on SP? I don't want to do a ton of documenting (makes me think of WW which I know will make me obsessive!) but I'd like to make myself accountable.

Here's what I was thinking....

I'd like to start blogging. I "could" use that as my forum for 30 days, being willing to honestly document my food/mood, exercise progress....the good, the bad, the ugly, you know?

Any thoughts?

Today was pretty good. I could jump start the challenge with today by going back and reconstructing my day and go from there.

Funny thing is, I think I need something called "The 365 Day Challenge!" ha ha

Any thoughts?
