Macaroons, yum! Gotta stay away from those. Hmmm, wonder if I have a recipe somewhere for macaroons that have stevia instead of sugar...I'll have to work on that.

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

I loathe the flavor and texture. When I use coconut oil to cook I tend to have a very heavy hand with spices...it covers alot of that up. I can pick it out of carrot cake and just about anything else. I tend to give mine to my dh as he is a macaroon lover......

I made the recipe, and it's heavenly. It didn't hold together well, however. Will have to tweak it.

My dh is the same way Purrballs; I just don't get you guys. Maybe it's the texture of the coconut you don't like. 'course some coconut oils don't have much of a flavor--the more refined kinds. I like the unrefined ones with rich coconutty flavor. Which ones do you like?

I have made a grain-free granola that I put coconut flakes in; not the shredded kind, but the large flakes. Dh doesn't seem to notice that; he actually likes that granola...so do I!

Those look tasty. I just tried my first Larabar yesterday and already have making some treats like that (dates and nuts) on the agenda. I almost went to town at 10pm just to find some dates and make some. :)

A nice little treat or snack: bars made with dates, nuts, cocoa, and coconut. Great for lunchboxes, backpacks, or purses for on-the-go snacking. They remind me of brownies and truffles! Enjoy!
