Hey Little Luscious! What a great alternative to my machine. I don't know why it wouldn't work! Oh, it is soooo good.

We grill year round (Michigan). Takes that grill awhile to heat up in the cold! lol Today it was in the 20's.

I certainly would think you could broil it! Just watch it, that it doesn't dry out because it's so lean. Maybe on a lo broil setting if you have it? If you can put everything in the Ziplock the night before, even better for tenderizing the meat.

It is scrumptious and I am sure you will like it. Do let me know what you think!

I had never heard of the marinade bowl and I googled it. As far as I can tell it penetrates the meat with marinade quickly because you are able to make a vacuum. I have the Ziplock hand pump vacuum bags, low-tech. I think I will try this in a gallon vacuum bag.

The marinade recipe sounds yummy. Do you grill this outside? We are raining heavy. Could I just broil it? Thanks for the recipe.

I bought a 2 pack at Costco and used one of the pieces of meat and YES it is a large piece of flank...probably twice the size of what you would get off a grocery shelf.

Will check out those marinades. Thanks!

???- what size of flank steak? That seems like a very large recipe for one steak. BTW, MDA had a post on marinades for meat last summer- check them out- he has also done a post on rubs in the past year.

Marinated Flank Steak -

3/4 c. cooking oil (I used Grapeseed)
1/4 c. honey*
1/4 c. tamari (natural soy)*
2T. red wine vinegar
1 1/2 t. ginger
1 onion, diced
1-2 cloves of garlic, pressed

Mix and pour marinade over flank steak and let it sit for several hours or overnight. If you have a Food Saver Marinade bowl, that works much faster!

Cook to your liking on the grill and slice into thin slices. This is a summer favorite of ours, but I just made it tonight again...and it's January!

*I know soy is not Paleo (don't think honey is either?) but the way I look at it, it adds so much flavor and the marinade is tossed, anyway! emoticon
