I want to lose the 40 lb. pregnancy weight that I'm still holding onto 8 months postpartum. I want to get back in shape and plant a big veggie garden this summer! Oh, and take the family to the beach. :)

Just a friendly warning....5ks are addictive! ;) I can't wait to get back into doing them. The first one I will definitely be doing is not a race per se, it is the Walk MS: San Antonio and it is more just a fundraising event. Good luck! :)

Have had a total "mind flip" in that I have broken through some things that had been holding me back and making me feel like I wasn't worth losing weight, etc. Totally excited about this year, although I know it will be a lot of hard work and determination to get me there.
My goals are:
To hit my goal weight of 140 by: Strength training and cardio activity on a daily basis; Tracking my food to be accountable for what I am eating and add in fruits, veggies, and more protein.
I am also planning on joining some of my children in running a 5K at Christmas time.

I had a hysterectomy on Dec 1 and am just now being able to exercise again. So, my main goal for the moment is working back up to the level of exercise I was at before the surgery. As soon as Epiphany hits and we are done celebrating Christmas, I plan to go back to dessert only once a day. I had started that back in Lent and found I felt more energetic when I did it. I read an exhortation on how we need to maintain our Catholic identity by not celebrating Christmas during Advent and really making a point to do special things to celebrate from Christmas to Epiphany and I have been doing that by eating special desserts and planning many fun family activities. I also ate as much as I wanted for the week between Christmas and New Years which resulted in a weight gain which I know will come back off quickly as soon as I go back to eating reasonably.
