Hi everyone,

I've been in Spark for 8 weeks--seems like longer--and am looking for a team that's small but not inactive. I write--a lot--for my job but would like to write on the side as well, I've started a nonfiction book. I read a lot also, and have finally gotten serious about getting healthy.

I lived in Chicago and other places in Illinois till my early 30s, and have lived in Arkansas since then. I'll be 59 in a few months. I've been lucky enough to travel to Scandinavia, England, Scotland and Ireland, and many of the states. I'm online almost every day and am so grateful that I stumbled onto Spark! In addition to reading and writing I love nature. Took a photo class this summer and hope to post some great pictures online soon.

Hello, and thanks for the warm welcome, SCOTMAMA and everyone!

I'm Rain in Vancouver, Canada. I've always been an avid reader. Currently, I'm trying to get through Michener's _Alaska_ first and then _Hawaii_. I took a cruise to Alaska a few years ago and have another one planned for Hawaii in the spring, so that's the reason for the book choice. I've also recently read _The Spark_. In fact, it was the first book I bought for my Kindle. LOVE my Kindle!! I'm trying to get through the hardcover Michener books first before I go on an ebook splurge.

I don't write professionally, but I do love to correspond with friends and family. In fact, what I'm really hoping to find is a buddy who would be interested in keeping up a regular correspondence with me via SparkMail. I've tried to find buddies on other teams, but so far I haven't found anyone else who likes to babble on, one on one, the way I do! So, if you're reading this and think that you and I might be compatible SparkMail correspondence buddies, please let me know!

Hi everyone.

My name is Steina and I come from Iceland (you asked Scotmama :)

I LOVE to read and my secret biggest "career wish" for my future, when I have time is to write proffessionally. Apart from that I am thirty, just finished my MA in clinical psychology (which makes you a licenced clinical psychologist in Iceland) and would like to make my next goal in life, getting into shape.
I kind of feel like I'm not the person I am supposed to be, when I look at my girlfriends who are allt thin and I am the fat one (these last 10+ years). And I would LOVE support on this, because I just started and already feel like it's OVERWHELMING to try for that 62 kg marker!!! (which I haven't weighed since I was 18 and then I felt FAT :)

I hope to make new friends (I'll offer couches if you come to Iceland) here along the way, because I am someone who need personal contact with coworkers to feel comfortable. I haven't written this personally about myself anywhere else on Sparkpeople and I guess it's because you are such a small group, it makes me feel more secure (as I am still very embarrassed by this whole weight issue and starting this battle publicly here in Iceland).

I hope I'm posting in the right place? My name is Nurture. I am from Central Qld Australia. I am a happily married mum to three beautiful daughters (13, 9, 6) and one cheeky son (5). DD13 is in an accelerated learning program at the local high school while the other children are all home learners.

As you may have guessed, I love reading. I also enjoy using the internet. I don't enjoy excercise yet, but I'm told I will come to love it.

I joined SparkPeople to help myself get fit and healthy, and to lose all this excess weight. I also joined Toastmasters International, to work on my self-confidence.

Re: my username. I have been using the name fairywhispers online for so long, I really can't remember how I came by it.
