Twas the week ‘ere Thanksgiving and all through the home,
Preparations were started, many people would come!
They’d want stuffing and taters and pies and some cake.
For a girl eating healthy, what e'er would she make?
All the food, all the wine, all the sitting and talking,
She knows she should flee, go out, do some walking!
"Relax", says her friends, "you know you can do it!
With Spark pals behind you, there’ll be nothing to it!"
To prepare for the day, to strengthen your nerve,
Here’s a challenge for you, take it up with some verve!
To reduce all the stresses of holiday cheer,
Your first task at hand is to make one thing clear,
Resolve here by stating for all to take note,
“I will not keep eating until I do bloat!”
That brings me to... the next task at hand.
Challenge your body. Make a demand!
Don’t make yourself achy, don’t make yourself sore,
But ask of your body just ten percent more.
The third of my dares, might make you tremble.
I do not ask much, I will not dissemble.
Search high and search low. Check out the site.
Take an old fave and now make it light!
In Vino Veritas so they do say.
But all wine will do is make you sway!
Rather be sure to get all your water.
Just tell your mates you’re like the otter!
Last but not least, amidst all this bustle,
I challenge YOU to defy all the hustle!
Put on your cap, your pj’s and snug
Deep under the covers like the bug in a rug.

So why don’t you tell us about your pace!
Translation of the challenges:
Challenge 1: Make your resolution not to lose your head during the holidays and eat everything in sight. Make a positive statement to that effect on the challenge thread or post a blog telling us your holiday plan for success.
Challenge 2: When doing your cardio this week add 10%. 10% more time or 10% more distance, the choice is yours. So if you normally workout for 30 mins, make it 33 this week! If you normally bike 10 miles, make it 11!
Challenge 3: Take one of your favorite Thanksgiving recipes, do a little research and find a way to make it lighter. Tell us what recipe you chose and how you modified it, then tell us how it turned out.
Challenge 4: Make sure to get 8 glasses of water in each day!
Challenge 5: Be sure to take care of yourself, which includes getting plenty of sleep! Minimum of 7 hours a night!
Bonus Challenge: IF you go shopping on Black Friday, strap on that pedometer and tell us how many steps you walked to get those bargains.
