Challenge 5: Be sure to take care of yourself, which includes getting plenty of sleep! Minimum of 7 hours a night!

Bonus Challenge: IF you go shopping on Black Friday, strap on that pedometer and tell us how many steps you walked to get those bargains.

I'm starting this a little late but have had the 'spirit' of the challenge even before I knew about it.

Goal for this Week: Enjoy life and health

Challenge #1: I am reducing stress and keeping a positive attitude this week and won't let little irritants get me down. It helps when I take my vitamins every day so I'm making a commitment to SET AN ALARM to remind me to take them every day!

Challenge #2: This week I'm working on speed as well as increasing distance - my goal is to walk the Turkey Trot 5k in less than 15 min/mile and I'm hoping for 14:45!! I also have a goal of resuming strength training during the week.
Sat 11/17 - worked a restoration project for 4 hours which combined ST & challenging hiking on soft ground uphill carrying tools - also 2 dog walks, 20 min each
Sun 11/18 - hiked 5 miles with 500' elevation gain leading group - 20 min/mile - also 2 dog walks, 20 min and 60 min
Mon 11/19 - hiked 3.5 miles with 800' elevation gain leading group - 1 hour 15 min - also 2 dog walks, 20 min and 25 min

Challenge #3: We are going out for Thanksgiving dinner this year and I will be substituting asparagus spears for the potatoes.

Challenge #4: My goal is to get 10-12 cups of water [including coffee and tea] each day this week.

Challenge #1: I will handle stress with finesse. Instead of complaining about problems I will come up with solutions.

Challenge #2: Did Turbofire HIIT 25 (minutes) instead of my planned HIIT 20 (minutes) workout. The choreography was more difficult too! emoticon

At least my weight held steady. I got 7 hours of sleep Thanksgiving night, but that was the only one during the timeframe.

Goal for this Week: Just to complete the challenges

Challenge #1: Sticking to my trackers and measuring everything

Challenge #2: Spent more then an extra 10% working out

Challenge #3:There are so many changes that have been made to make the holidays more healthy and diet friendly but the first one that comes to mind is Helmans mayo changed to Helmans light mayo, and a lot of the pies are made from scratch so that is better too!

Challenge #4: always drink a lot more then 8 ounces of water!

Challenge #5:sleep I get 7 to 8

Twas the week ‘ere Thanksgiving and all through the home,
Preparations were started, many people would come!
They’d want stuffing and taters and pies and some cake.
For a girl eating healthy, what e'er would she make?

All the food, all the wine, all the sitting and talking,
She knows she should flee, go out, do some walking!
"Relax", says her friends, "you know you can do it!
With Spark pals behind you, there’ll be nothing to it!"

To prepare for the day, to strengthen your nerve,
Here’s a challenge for you, take it up with some verve!


To reduce all the stresses of holiday cheer,
Your first task at hand is to make one thing clear,
Resolve here by stating for all to take note,
“I will not keep eating until I do bloat!”

That brings me to... the next task at hand.
Challenge your body. Make a demand!
Don’t make yourself achy, don’t make yourself sore,
But ask of your body just ten percent more.

The third of my dares, might make you tremble.
I do not ask much, I will not dissemble.
Search high and search low. Check out the site.
Take an old fave and now make it light!

In Vino Veritas so they do say.
But all wine will do is make you sway!
Rather be sure to get all your water.
Just tell your mates you’re like the otter!

Last but not least, amidst all this bustle,
I challenge YOU to defy all the hustle!
Put on your cap, your pj’s and snug
Deep under the covers like the bug in a rug.

So ends my challenge, I thank you all.
May your holiday be a blast. Go on, have a ball!
