I am not an expert but I've been told there is no way to 'target' a specific area - our bodies gain and lose weight or fat in different areas on an individual basis and that's just how we are 'wired' - and a lot of our 'weight loss' may not be 'fat' so it's important not to get the two issues mixed up.

But I also know that a lot of 'waist size' also has to do with how swollen or bloated we are so if that's part of it, you might find good results by eliminating carbs and especially sugar, which tends to cause the liver to become bloated. If that's the case, then eliminating carbs can cause your liver to release the accumulated water and shrink in the process.

Good luck reaching your goals!

Dear Sparkers,
I want to lose 2.5inches off my waist to be a dress size smaller, I dont know how best to go about this as its going everywere else first. Does anyone know about targetting problem areas? I just lost 34lbs but this only made my waist 1 inch smaller! Will this ratio change? Will I lose more inches for lbs as I get nearer my goal?Has losing 34lbs made my stomach fat less compact so it will tighten up if I keep losing? Will a good session of abs everyday reep results? or cardio fat burn daily? What are the best workouts to target your tummy? Thanks for reading X LuCy
