I've had the dvd for a while but finally got around to trying it. I got through about 15 minutes of it and decided to do something else. Normally, I like the compound moves, as you are fitting upper body and lower body strength training into the same time period, but the types of compound moves in this workout were just too annoying to me. None of them on their own were particularly difficult in theory but when there were several different compound movements in the same exercise, I spent more time trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing when than doing the actual exercise.
I am sure that if it was the only exercise dvd that I had, I would eventually memorize the moves, or if I would have gone past 15 minutes, the whole dvd may have turned around but I found it to be enough not-fun, that I would rather do any of the other dvds that I own. I am not the most coordinated person, so I prefer simpler combinations. Someone who is more coordinated or more used to choreographed (for want of a different word) exercise may love it. It just was not for me.
I've done Hard Body about 5 times over the past few weeks. I like it! I did it again this evening & this was the first time I felt comfortable enough with the moves to feel like I've got 'em down! The first few times I only used 3 lb weights but this time I used 5's for a few moves.
I've noticed that I really feel it in my shoulders/upper back the next day, more than any other JM workout (bring on the tank tops! Lol!)
I'll be interested in knowing if it grows on you with time. Hard Body is actually the first Jillian DVD that I haven't purchased.

ok, I was so excited for this dvd to come out and I finally got it in the mail yesterday. I popped that sucker in immediately and went to town. The structure of the video is a bit different then my trusty side kick (30DS) but the verdict is out still wether I love the format or hate it yet.
the work out is exactly 45 minutes including the warm up and cool down. 6 circuits done 2 times. I will get you sweating, but many of the moves are combination moves and I found myself not getting the flow of the move till it was time to move on to the next exercise. I'm sure with time this will get easier and I will be able to follow along better.
Would love to hear others feed back on the dvd as well. I plan to stick with it for a while at least and see what happens.
