FINALLY DONE! I'm back from a vacation, I wanted to lose 20 lbs before I left, I lost 18 lbs,
only two from my goal. I look back to January when I made the commitment to myself to stop with the excuses, that had gone on long enough, everyday will be the same if I don't physically get up and take control, the days had already turned into years, I wanted this year and the years after to be incredible, not just the weight, but the fact that I wanted to prove to myself that I had the determination, will power, commitment, focus and desire to start and finish something, to not walk away, to not get distracted, to not say I will do it tomorrow when you know in the back of your head that you are taking a very big chance of allowing yourself the one day off that makes it easier to take 2,3,4.....off. I still have more weight to lose and attempt to defy gravity by toning up what went south. This was a rough workout for me, especially week 4, but I found myself thanking Jillian, vs the conversations I was having with her in the beginning :) Thanks to everyone for their encouragement, on to the next journey, the JM slimdown/rotation. JM "I don't stop when I'm tired, I stop when I'm done." Make it Happen, you know you can.

Day 28 done, also did a two mile run today, only a few more days left of Ripped in 30, then I think I'm going to move to the slim down/ rotation, I tried to do both during the Ripped, but it proved to be too much for me. I'll see this goal to the end and then start the new one, I hope that all is well in Spark land and that everyone is doing fantastic. Keep your head up, it takes a lot of want and willpower to even start one of Jillian's programs, that was the first step and it took a lot of courage, so keep smiling. Pull yourself up, today is a brand new day!

ok, where are you guys? :) I just did day 22 of the Ripped (week 4), WOW, pretty tough, but doable with modifications (at least for me), I had to revert back to some of the strength exercises from week 3, lots of sweat. Hope everyone is doing great!

Yeahh it's the weekend! I've finished day 20 of ripped and day 2 of the rotation, weighed in and the scale finally moved, I've lost 17 lbs since Jan 7th, it means a lot to me that I didn't give in, I really did it this time. Many things have motivated me, small things, big things. I would take an outfit that I didn't fit in and hang it on the back of the bathroom door, schedule and event for the weekend that I thought I would be able to fit into it, sometimes I'd fit, sometimes I didn't, but what ever I wore looked so much better than it would have if I had not pushed myself to do the work. But looking at the outfit everyday reminded me of one of the reasons I shouldn't talk myself out of a workout, it's 20 some minutes, "I can do this!" was a normal statement I would make to myself often. I'm just a little over half way to my goal, I choose to make a change. I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend, hang in there, you know you can do it.

Finished day 17 and also did 30 Day shred yesterday to start the JM rotation posted by BLACKANDI. So far today I've done the 30DS and I'll be doing day 18 of the Ripped tonight. I really like week 3, I can feel it working even with modifications. Hope all is well out there in Spark Land :)

Day 16 RI 30 Done! I hope that everyone had a great weekend. I'm planning on doing the JM rotation as well, that means I need to do level 1 of the 30 day shred today if I want to keep my game plan. I'm going to have to incorporate more energy foods into my daily meals and snacks
Love yourself and do your best.

WELCOME MOXIEBLONDE86! Sounds like your going full blast with your effort towards reaching your goal, that's fantastic! I don't have the body revolution, but I have I purchased all the dvd's needed to do the Jillian Michaels Rotation posted by BLACKANDI, I'm going to add this on the 15th. I'm on day 15 of the RI 30, I can see a difference. The weather is beautiful here, so I had my bikini reveal at the beach yesterday, everything is fine if I just lay face up, suck in, don't move or breathe :) Actually, I've come a long ways since January, I've lost half the weight that I wanted and definitely toned up, but I still have some hard work to do. As Jillian would say, "You wanna wear those strapless dresses, you wanna wear those tank tops, this is the kind stuff you gotta do!" So true, nobody else is going to do this for me and it's not just going to miraculously happen, the passion, will power and work has to come from me. There, I just gave myself a pep talk :) Let me know what the Revolution workout is like, be proud of yourself, you're taking control. Have a great day everybody!

I'm on Day 4 of Ripped in 30. I've been adding in some Body Revolution workouts too and boy am I sore! This afternoon I will be doing Day of of Ripped in 30 and workout 1 for level 1 of Body Revolution. I did 20 days of 30 day Shred previously and I find Ripped in 30 to be much more challenging and fun. I'm really enjoying it! My scale broke so I don't know if I'm losing any weight. I have been trying to stick to 1200 calories though. I'm going to take measurements tonight so I have a reference point or results.

Day 13 done! I hope that you enjoy your company Stacey, WOW 3.75 miles, that's fantastic, especially with the extra bundle with pigtails riding on your back :) I keep telling myself that I'll do a second workout in the evening, it's not happening, I've got to get serious about it if I want the results to speed up. Have a wonderful week.

Well, it looks like I'll be take a few days rest from Ripped in 30 while my in-laws are in town. We only have on TV and a very small condo and I've been getting to work @ 4:30AM and not willing to get up @ 3AM to work out. I'm not THAT committed. I will, however, resume on Thursday and not take my typical Sun/Mon off like I have been lately. I'll take Wed off next week and then go back to taking Sun off next week.

Have a great week ladies!

I have been doing 3.75 mile walks around my enormous block which is about 2/3 down hill and 1/3 up hill and I wear my 30 pounds daughter on my back. So, I am still getting exercse, just not Ripped in 30. :(

Good Morning!
I hope that everyone had a great weekend, it's a brand new week, I'm ready to make the most of it, I just finished day 11, week 2, I'm gonna wrap it up with my 1.5 mile walk/run. The scale needs to start moving, I'm at a bit of a stand still. As Jillian would say "Dig, Dig, Dig!" Have a fantastic day!

Day 6 & 7 complete! Both were level 2 workouts and I feel for you Nica! I have to severely modify all the plank and most of the ab workouts because my abs are soooooo weak! I'm hoping to get through the first series of Ripped in 30 with modifying everything, then move on to 30 day Shred, then do the Brazilian workout series, then circle back to Ripped in 30 and see if I still need to modify.

I spent SEVERAL years as an obese person, then two pregnancies without keeping up my workouts, so my abs are in horrible shape. This is my first step to changing my weak abs and to get fit! I'm so glad this thread is out here to keep me accountable.

Thanks ladies!

Oh, and the extra two pounds have fallen off. I'm guessing it was TOM messing with my scale weight.

Nica-no, I didn't do Ripped in 30 the day of the hike or the day after. I could barely walk by the evening and the next day was worse! I did a couch to 6.5 mile Iron Mountain hike which was brutal and I would totally do it again!

Happy Friday Sparkies!
I'm on day 10, 3 days into week 2, I'm finding some of the exercises awkward and a few where my body says, "Are you kidding, this is against the laws of physics!" But, I'm modifying, not making it easy, but making it possible to get a great workout and not end up with my foot on backwards :) Tracey5280, I laughed when I read about you wanting to do was curl up on the living room floor, I have sooo felt that, either that or I'm thinking about my coffee. The thing is that you are doing it, you're pushing yourself and your body can't help but to respond, keep it up and you'll start to notice little differences that turn out to be big. When I put on some of the pants that used to be tight and are now loose, I smile, it's my payoff for all the hard work. Stacey, hope your glutes feel better than they did at the beginning of the week, sounds like you had a beautiful hike. Did you and your baby girl add the RI 30? You've inspired me to think about adding a second workout, easily said than done, but I really want to hit my goal by the end of May. Ok fellow workerouters, I hope that everyone has a fantastic day, give yourself a pat on the back.

So it's becoming pretty obvious I'm not going to do this on a daily basis! Week 1, Day 3 this morning :) Had to talk myself in to getting out of bed. Usually after I get going I wake up but all I wanted to do in the middle of the dvd is curl up on the living room floor!. So, yay me :)

Hey gang, I'll be starting day 8 week 2 tonight, I already did my 1.5 miles this morning, it was a great run. SPARHIALA, like you said it could be water weight, maybe you're switching things around and building muscle. I try to have little snacks throughout the day, to keep fueling the fire, almonds, fruit, veggies & hummus, just a little something. You're doing great!
Have a great evening!

Day 4 completed! I'll do it tomorrow morning provided the scale digits stop creeping up. I've gained almost two pounds in the past week and I haven't changed my diet at all! Sounds weird to say this, but am I not eating enough and that's why I'm gaining weight? Maybe it's just water retention (a girl can hope).

Have a great day!

Hello ladies! So, I completed days 1 & 2 on Friday and Saturday night, but took yesterday off due to a rigorous 6.5 mile hike that took two hours to complete yesterday morning.

My glutes have never hurt so bad! It was a beautiful hike though and I had a fabulous time walking it with my girlfriend. We talked about our kids, my husband, Easter plans, and her possibly getting back out there in the dating game. We had a LOT of time to talk on our hike up Iron Mountain (Poway, CA if you're ever visiting San Diego area :)) and I felt fantastic for hours afterward.

I need to start doing Ripped in 30 in the AM so that I can have the same empowering feeling when I'm done, but it's been rough getting up before 6:45AM since the darn time changed. So, I'll be doing Ripped in 30 this evening with my 2 1/2 year old daughter.

Day 6 done! I was planning on doing this yesterday, but the day got away from me so fast, I should have known better and set the alarm a bit earlier. Not gonna beat myself up over it, I jumped back in today with the workout and my 1.5 mile walk/run. Yeahhh TRACEY5280 and Stacey P, you made it! I felt it in my abs after day one also, I could feel my abs burning during the "Sun" position. I'm starting to see more definition in certain areas, makes me smile :) Dee Dee, great attitude, your even taking us to the Tropics with ya (kinda), that's determination. DOINGNOTTRYING, hope you're doing ok, get back in here, you know you want to:) I hope that everyone has a great evening.

FINALLY got day 1 done yesterday. I've been doing 30 Day Shred and didn't think this felt much harder. Well was I wrong. Abs are killing me. I'm kind of surprised. Saturday is my workout with resistance band so did that (except for the abs). Tomorrow is walk/hike day but not sure I'll get that in since it's Easter. So, back it Monday. I hope I'm recovered by then!

Hi all,

Sorry, I didn't get chance to log back in yesterday.. Day 3 and 4 done!

I think I'll add the 30 min JM Killer Abs workout to make it an hour thing. I'm leaving for a tropical vacation on April 9th and really need to try to firm up the jiggles!
I''ve already packed my gym clothes. Now, I just have to figure out if and how I can log in here while I'm gone. Either way, I'll be doing the workouts (will be printing off the list so that I remember what to do while we're away), plus using the resort's gym.

I just realized you're doing Ripped in 30! I've only tried 30-day Shred which is probably why I joined this team in the first place. Thanks for answering my questions Nica!

I had to review my orders from Amazon to see if I own Ripped in 30...I've clearly not opened the DVD yet. So, now I'm even more excited to join this journey with you ladies even if you'll all be five days ahead of me.

Looking forward to Saturday!

Hello Fellow Sparkers! Day 4 is done, JM is busting my butt! I agree with you about liking the fact that the obligation to log in is a motivator, I want us all to make it. Stacey P., Jillian mentions to always take one day off a week, as far as the weights go she said one set of light and one set of heavy. I'm using 2lbs, but I feel like I need a heavier weight on some of the exercises, I just have to buy them, or look in one of my closets where I probably hid them from guilt a few years back. The RI 30 program has a new workout for each week over a four week period, so you would change the level each week according to what the back of the dvd states. I want to complete 30 days of working out, so I will not move to week 2 until I have completed 7 workouts. Ok, hope that makes sense, see ya on Saturday in the am! Alright Tracey5280, get ta sweatin'! :) Seriously, work does have a tendency to manipulate out time, hope you can make it today. Dee Dee, I know your out there :) I hope that everyone has a really great workout and a great day.

Hello ladies! As long as posting occurs I don't think it really matters if someone steps up to be the team leader. I'm a star procrastinator and have no business leading any team, so I just join them and enjoy the benefits. :)

T-2 days until I get to start (Saturday morning for me!), but I do have a few questions:

1. Is it supposed to be done for a consecutive 30 days in a row, or do you recover one day a week?
2. Are you always supposed to use weights? If so, what weight is average? I've tried to do the video before and the high repetitions made even the 5 lb weights to heavy for me (am I THAT weak?)
3. Do you increase the level every week or 10 days? Or, do you stay on level one until you think you can handle level two?

Thanks ladies and great job finishing the video each day this week. I have yet to get through an entire level one video in one try, so looking forward to not only completing level one each week, but checking out level two and then three!

Good Morning!
I finished day 3 and did a 1.5 mile walk/run, felt great! I feel like I've hit a weight plateau over the past few weeks, I'm gonna have to kick it up a knotch if I'm gonna hit my goal by the end of May for my family reunion, not just for that, but I can't hide in these long pants forever. I think you have to have a Spark page in order to friend each other, if so, I'll have to create one for myself, also, there is another team "Jillian Michaels Sparkers", I post there as well and have not received a message about not having a leader, we can always find each other there too. "Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will." ~Mahatma Gandhi~
Have a great workout and wonderful day! Nica

Day 2 completed! Running man still not good though. lol Luckily we won't have that next week.

Since we're just a topic under the 30 day shred team and not an actual team, I wasn't sure if we could possibly get wiped out if the team went inactive. I don't think we will as I have scouted around and can still see inactive challenges but, you never know. I guess a simpler thing would be just to friend each other and then, if the main team did go inactive, we'd still have contact.?

Hi Everyone!
Day 2 accomplished! I had the same message, but the team that we have created a topic under is 30 Day Shred (An All About Jillian Michaels Team), I was under the impression that this team had a leader, is it possible that all topics under this team received the same message? I'll keep digging, let me know if anyone else finds out anything. In the meantime, "Transformation is not five minutes from now, it's a present activity" ~JM

Morning,

About to do Day 2...a little earlier today.
When I logged in, there was a big message that this team has an inactive team leader and asking for someone to be team leader...so I'm not sure what that means....will this team go dormant without a leader? Just wondering if we should start another team just for us or if we're okay to stay here? Thoughts everyone?

Day 1 Completed.
It wasn't too bad actually.
I was rear-ended several years ago by a drunk driver (smashed my neck and jaw in the steering wheel, etc) so I have very little upper body strength and daily pain but...I managed the planks and push-ups, the side planks were a bit harder but I did do most at regular and some modified. Believe it or not, its the running man that gets me, I have to modify that a bit, as my knees won't allow it (maybe from smashing my knees into steering column in the accident?).

Well tomorrow is another day and another workout!

DAY 1 COMPLETE!!! Feel great, I was definitely sweating by the end, I tried to tighten my muscles throughout each move in order to increase the intensity of the workout. Planks are very difficult for me, but I managed. Did anyone else's belly jiggle during the football fast feet drill? I'm givin it my A game! Hope everyone is doing great and had a wonderful day! Can't wait to hear how your workout went. "That's all I want, give me everything you've got!" Ok Jillian, you've got it!

WELCOME SPARHIALA! I know what it's like to start a fitness program and not complete it, I had to blow the dust off my 30 day shred dvd that stared at me for two years. I found a group on Spark working towards the same goal and I finished it! I felt really proud of myself and the others, you don't always feel like doing the work, my brain would try everything to talk myself out of it, but I just wouldn't give it the chance, I made it a part of my day like making the bed up, you just do it! The results were worth the effort. This is gonna be fun! Ok, I might not be actually saying that during the workout, but I'll be saying it when I fit into some of those cute shorts that I had to tuck away :) So cheer us on and join us next Saturday! Enjoy your weekend.

I'll join you ladies next Saturday when I'll be cleared to exercise again. I'll be five days behind, but that gives me a 5 day advantage to what I'll be experiencing when I start. I'll still check in daily to read how you ladies are feeling.

I've tried it before, but I'm not sure I ever made it past level 1 nor finished all of the exercises in each of the 5 or 6 sessions I started. So, I'm hoping it will be different with some ladies to be accountable too.

YEAHHHH!!! I was so afraid that no one would reply & I'd be talking to myself for 30 days. Thanks WAYCAT, sorry about your injured shoulder, but overjoyed to hear that you love the Ripped in 30, maybe you can give us some tips along the way. DDEMOND, I'm so excited to start this thing! We can definitely keep each other on track, I was lucky enough to have some shredders encouraging each other throughout the 30 days of that, the results were excellent and it really, really helps to be held accountable. Have a great weekend!

Hi KKNICA,

I'll start the Ripped in 30 with you on Monday if you're still looking for buddies.

I've started it before but got sidetracked and didn't do it as consistently as I should have. Maybe we can keep each other on track? emoticon

I've done Ripped In 30 and loved every minute of it - yes, I know that sounds as if I need my head testing, but honestly there were times when I was such a heap of sweat and tears that I was laughing!!! It was either that, or swearing at the TV!

At the moment I'm nursing an injured shoulder so any kind of strength work is not an option right now - FRUSTRATING!

But good luck with this - you'll love it I'm sure!

Please read my ticker backwards as I am trying to gain weight.
