I'm interested in this Kickbox DVD! I love the kickboxing moves on BFBM so I'd like to try one that's more kickboxing.

I have 30 Day Shred, BFBM and 6W6P. Like them all, and it's been a while since I've done the last two, (getting back on the workout wagon after having the baby,) but I do remember feeling that I burn the most calories with BFBM.

It's hard to pick, but my most favorite recently is Kickbox Fast Fix. It feels fast, is a great workout and the combinations are complicated enough that I am not familiar enough to get bored with it even over an extended time. I also find that I have to really focus on each combination that it provides a good "mental" workout and leads to better form for me.

I only have the 30 Day Shred, but I am loving it! I am on Day 15, and it seems I have seen more results with Level 1 than 2, but I'm going to keep on keepin' on and see what happens! I have lost over an inch in my waist, .5 in my hips and .25 in my arm. I've only lost 2 lbs, but I'm okay with that (for now) as long I am seeing visible results.
I have ordered the FIRM Wave for my next adventure, but kind of want to keep with Jillian since I am seeing results, so I am curious to see what others say about their favorite Jillian DVD. I only have 20-30 minutes to give right now, so it has to be a shorter video.

I agree with Waycat!

I enjoy a lot of them, and they each have their own merit or purpose.

NMTZ is great for strength. And when I want to work my Abs, 6 pack. When I want to work on my thighs- Killer Buns & Thighs.

I do Ripped in 30 now and again if I only have a short time. I used to love the Shred as well. BFBM I've only done once, but I just got it not too long ago and liked it for a longer cardio workout- but honestly I run a few days a week so I can burn more doing that than BFBM.

Those are the dvd's I do the most, I recently bought Killer Abs but I feel 6 pack is better. I also just got Yoga Meltdown, but level 1 I barely burned any calories, haven't tried level 2 yet. Same with level 1 for shed and Shred, only tried one and didn't get as good of a burn as Ripped.

For cardio I simply crave Banish Fat - each time I do it I put in maximum effort, knowing that each circuit is only about 6 minutes long, so there is light at the end of the tunnel! I just love how I feel at the end of this workout - and for once I actually have colour in my face!

If I just want to do strength, then No More Trouble Zones is the one for me - I did it this morning (yesterday I did two cardio sessions, so didn't feel like jumping around today) - and again, I put in my best effort on each circuit. I have to say that circuit 1 is really hard, especially those shoulder raises and pressouts. Jillian says that during the pressouts we're bringing the heart rate back down, but for me it's the total opposite!!

And if I want to do a combined cardio/strength workout I head straight to Ripped in 30, usually doing levels 2 and 3, or 3 and 4, back to back - I also did this if I need a butt-kicking, because Jillian is so "in your face" on this one, you can't help but take notice and work hard!

I've tried Extreme Shed & Shred, but it's gathering dust on my shelf right now because I just couldn't warm to it.

And Kickbox Fast Fix is just too fast and complicated for my poor old brain to process and my poor old body to keep up with!

Please read my ticker backwards as I am trying to gain weight.

Banish Fat Boost Your Metabolism is my go to. It's the best solid cardio DVD and I use it whenever I need a jumpstart. I just got No More Trouble Zones and Extreme Shed and Shred and both of them are pretty amazing as well.

I haven't seen this DVD talked about much on this team, but I absolutely LOVE Jillian's Kickbox Fastfix!!! It has three 20 minute workouts on it, one for arms, one for legs, and one for abs. They workouts feel like they go by FAST and at the end I am exhausted, but feel like I really accomplished something. She even offers a training section of the DVD so you can learn the moves before you workout for maximum effectiveness! I'm not usually one who enjoys working out, but I can say that I actually love kickboxing with Jillian!

Beth,
As long as you've got the OK to go ahead with exercise from your doctor, I highly suggest the 30 Day Shred or Ripped in 30.

If you remember your days in gym class, there are some of those same moves in these DVDs. For instance, the first workout includes: Push Ups, Jumping Jacks, Virtual Jump Rope, crunches & bicycle crunches. There's 3 minutes of strength training, then 2 minutes of Cardio & 1 minute of Ab Work. 3 circuits of that, so just under 20 minutes of hard work.

When I first started, I barely made it through the 2 minutes of cardio. Within a week, I saw improvement there. If you do your best & work out within your limits, you will see results. Just stick with it and keep trying.

Post once you've tried it out!

I have her Extreme Shed & Shred, and I have her 30 day Shed DVDs. I really enjoy them. I completed Insanity's 60 day program that is very high intensity, and thought that the DVDs would be too easy. Not true. Each time I do a Shed & Shred level I am sweating like crazy, and I do breath heavily. I think it is because you use weights during them (I generally use 8 lb weights, and in some areas do 5 lb.) I think that regardless of the shape you are in, how much you put into it is what you'll get. You will always sweat and need a pause from time-to-time because you are increasing your level of intensity by pushing yourself.

Definitely get it. Her programs are nice because you do only need hand weights and a mat. You should try the Biggest Loser videos too. I really enjoy them and you definitely burn calories and get stronger. They are less intense so are great for beginners. But, again, you can up your intensity and get a great workout. Jillian is in those as well and there are different levels on each one that you can customize.

Amazon has these videos for $7 or less. Free shipping many times. But, if your library has them, wonderful!

Good luck! You can do it!

emoticon EB. The knee is a very old injury.... I was 15 or so when it happened. The last time I was at the doctor I was given the go ahead for exercise without restrictions. I have been fairly consistent with my cardio and I know I will get out of breath with the shred, but it is the way to improve will be to push through and take a break if I need too. With your information and a couple of others I am ready to order it from the library and give it a try.... at least that will be free.

If I were you, I would check with a doctor or physical therapist you trust before starting the videos. I'm doing 30 Day Shred, and it's pretty intense depending on how much you put into it. It does involve cardio like jumping jacks and jump roping (without a jump rope) as well as strength moves like squats and lunges, all of which may be hard on your knee.

Getting out of breath does happen (even for me and I'm young and relatively active), but working through it helps increase your endurance. I only just finished day 5, and I can already feel a difference in my endurance levels!

When it comes to equipment, 30 Day Shred only requires a set of hand weights and a mat if you're on a hard surface. I'm not sure about the other videos.

I hope this helps! Definitely talk to a doctor though, I don't want to mislead you to injury!

I posted this as a topic on it's own but have gotten no reply so.... here it is again and I hope to get replies.

I am 43... have had a fractured knee... and of course am overweight with diabetes and other health issues.

I keep reading how hard this is. I can check it out at the library before I save up to buy it, but there is a wait list.
Will I be able to do this? I got out of breath just doing the Spring into shape bootcamp. I can ride my bike for 30 minutes at high intensity and I can walk at a decent pace for at least 30 minutes.
I don't have much equipment... dumbbells and a resistance band... and a stability ball. My budget to buy new stuff is ZERO... and will be ZERO so can I do this video without equipment? Are there ways to substitute if you don't have the equipment?
I have lost 10 pounds in 8 weeks doing "my thing" *LOL* but I keep hearing good things about this video and the other one that has something to do with "shred" in the title. I hear the results you can get are great... what is the average weight loss and inches loss?

I just want to make sure this if for me before I try to scrounge up the money.... like I said I can check it out from the library but it will be a while and I can only use it for a week..

So far, I have tried 30 Day Shred, 6 week 6 pack, and Ripped in 30.

I pick two workouts from the 3 DVD's for my daily workout.

I've noticed I burn A LOT more calories from Ripped in 30 than the other two. And I burn the least amount of calories from 30 Day Shred.

What are everyone's experiences with these or other workouts?
