Hello all. I am so pleased to see this "thread". I just got the Yoga Meltdown video 2 weeks ago, but have yet to try it. I was in the middle of moving into a new apartment, so I actually haven't worked out in over a month. (No weight gain though - woo hoo!) Anyway, I do No More Trouble Zones, 30 Day Shred and BL Boot Camp. I bought Yoga Meltdown to try something new. I plan on starting my new "routine" next week.

I noticed that Blownsix put that she burned 234 calories in 34:22 minutes. Do you all think that this is the approx. calories burned. Just curious.

I still would like to burn about 8 lbs, but toning, strength training and flexability are more important to me. Just wanted any additional information anyone can provide.

I will check in next week when I start. Hope you are all "melting" down to that figure you want. :-)

Keep positive!!!

I'm doing this one 2-3 time a week, consistently for the past 3 weeks or so. I find I am now moving more and more with "B", and feeling a little more fluid. Maybe I'll need to move up to level 2 in a month or so.

I do the yoga meltdown twice a week after 30 minutes on the elliptical. I also do NMTZ dvd 3 times a week with my elliptical. I did have sore muscles (especially my knees) the first few months so I needed to modify where necessary. Don't overdo, I tell myself that you shouldn't be able to do all the exercises in the beginning or perhaps that dvd is too easy for you. I did take a while just to learn the routines at first.

New to spark, wondering how often I can do this workout? Apparently I overdid it last week (and possibly when I restarted this week) rotating between dvds, my muscles just felt incredibly sluggish after that.
I've gotten into crow a couple of times on good days; to get more comfortable, I get my bf to kneel in front of me so that if I fall, I can go into his chest (and take us both down ;) ).

I got this DVD and watched it while on the treadmill a couple of times...now I just need the courage to actually attempt the workout! :)

No jumping, but you do move in the poses. I find it a little tough on my knees at times, but easier on them then the Shred.

Hey all, I just have a question about the yoga meltdown. I was doing the Shred, and I got to day 16, but my knees are KILLING me now, I can bearly do a jumping jack. Is there alot of that stuff in the yoga meltdown? Or is it mostly just holding poses? I don't want to quit working out, but level two of the shred kicked my butt...

Those chaturanaga push-ups kick my butt! I think in another week or 2 I may be able to move onto level 2....though the rolling side plank things isn't getting much better for me either!

Well I bought the yoga dvd and have done it almost 10 times now. It takes a while to get the routine but I am learning it. The chaturanga pose is almost impossible for me, I have been looking online at other yoga sites for modification. I just don't have the strength in my arms and shoulders yet (I certainly can't hold it for 15 seconds). I will keep plugging along and know I will get better and stronger.

I did level 1 again today. I find it a bit easier, especially since I finished the Shred and have a little more strength in my upper body

I tried the Yoga Meltdown onDemand last night, and having never done Yoga before, I was a bit discouraged...Maybe not the right word, but I felt like she moved through the poses way too fast and I had to pause/rewind to fit it. I'm also not flexible at all, and have no upper body strength, uncoordinated, sheesh! Maybe I'll continue to work at it once my dvd comes and I get done with the shred, but IDK about this one.

I've never done yoga before and I'm interested in trying her video. Today was my 3rd day doing the slimdown program. I wonder how that would fit into the slimdown, or should I just do it when I'm done?

Keep in mind, though I like Jillian she is not a Yoga instructor per sa. She has commented how Yoga was not something she was into. So with that being said I see it as a Yoga Flow Cardio kind of work out. My mind isn't at rest with her workout but I did see it and would like to try it. If I want my mind to rest I need to find my other Yoga CDs. Food for thought.

yoga meltdown is hard! i have done quite a bit of bikram yoga and this dvd is not like any yoga class i have ever been to... pace is much faster and although, you hold some of the poses for 15 seconds, i wouldn't say that you really get into the poses like you would in a yoga class.

that being said, i enjoyed the workout... it definitely made me realize how weak my arms are! and i felt relaxed and pretty stretched out afterwards, so i will definitely be doing it again... and hopefully doing a better job next time!

I just got the Yoga Meltdown. I enjoy Yoga but I think I will need some serious meditation after this one. It looks good. About the "crows pose" I've done it before but with my head on the floor and I rest my knees on the inside of my elbows (if that makes sense) I will attempt to raise my head but this is the first time that I tried it in a while as I was watching the DVD so I can get a handle on it when I really do it. I think I will like this one.

I tried it, but my TV is way up high on the wall, and I was doing all the poses wrong trying to see what she was doing. The cuing sort of assumes that you're watching - she doesn't cue each movement, so if your head is down in down dog, for instance, you either have to come up out of it to see, or guess at what you're supposed to do. I might try watching it all the way through once before trying it again... that way I won't have to look so much.

I purchased Yoga Meltdown right when it was released, but haven't tried it yet. I want to do it tomorrow morning so I just watched Level 1 to see what it was like - I'm so nervous! I've done yoga before but my arms hurt just watching this one! Wish me luck :)

Are you guys entering this as yoga in your fitness trackers? I feel like it probably burns more calories than what Spark will say, but I don't have a heart rate monitor.

I found that Level 1 of the Yoga Meltdown is on demand! I think I'm going to give it a try this morning. I finished the Shred yesterday and want to try as many things as possible before starting the Slimdown in a couple weeks.

ETA: Well, I did Level 1 this morning. It's... intense. I was sweating like I do after a round of the Shred. However, I don't feel like it was a "real" workout. I think I need more cardio at this point in my weight loss, but I would definitely go back to the Yoga Meltdown later on for toning and strength.

hey ladies,

i am not big on yoga but i am definately a fan of jillian michaels. i just found the dvd at costco for 7.99 if anyone have a membership that is a great deal its 8.99 at amazon for those who don't but you have to pay shipping if you don't spend 25 dollars or more. i can't wait to try it especially since it is not the traditional yoga if it is yoga shred then it is probably a great fit for me!

have a good night all!

I preordered it and have tried level 1 twice. I love yoga but I really don't consider yoga melt "yoga"...I consider it Yoga Shred. It's a good work out but if you are looking for the pace and challenge of traditional yoga, I would use another dvd or take a class.

I do enjoy it but use yoga for relaxation and this wasn't relaxing! LOL!

I've been doing the new Yoga Meltdown video since the day it came out the end of February and I feel so amazing. I just recently completed my 2nd round of the Shred and needed something different. The Yoga video has helped tighten me up and I feel so amazing and relaxed afterwards. (Although I'm sweating like crazy during). I'm going to have to agree with others that the chataronga pushups are killers! Ive started a group specifically for the yoga meltdown video for those of you who are also doing it!

I did it every day last week by "renting" it on Exercise TV through On Demand. I LOVE it. I've been shredding since mid January and have lost a ton of weight with Jillian's help. It seems that switching up to Yoga Meltdown has helped me tone up even more. I wore some pre-pregnancy pants to work this week and felt confident while I wore them.

I really like using my body weight to tone up. Those Chaturanga push ups are kicking my butt, but I love it. I'm sweating bullets by the time I'm finished. I also like that it's a much quieter exercise than the shred (no jumping jacks, no squat thrusts, no rock star jumps), so I have an easier time doing it while my son is asleep.

I ordered it through Amazon. I bought YM, Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism and No More Trouble Zones for $28 by buying them together.

I pre-ordered Yoga Meltdown before it came out and have been doing it for a week so far. I definitely feel my muscles working. I've always wanted to do yoga but its never held my interest. Jillian's way is perfect. There's movement AND holds in pose. I'm not brave enough for level 2 yet but I feel like I can tell a difference already.

My favorite new Jillian quote: Get comfortable with being uncomfortable!!

A Few Rules of Running from Mark Remy:

1. You rarely regret the runs you do; you almost always regret the runs you skip.

2. Not everyone who looks fast really is, and not everyone who looks slow really is.

3. Running any given route in the rain makes you feel 50 percent more hard-core than covering the same route on a sunny day.

4. If you care even a little about being called a jogger versus a runner, you're a runner.

Okay, I did level 1 just now. I burned 234 calories in 34:22 minutes. I can't complain. I feel that's a nice amount for such a short amount of time.

My review:
It was definitely a little different than the other yoga I tried (Yoga X, P90X) but I did enjoy it. I can see how this would appeal to people who don't normally like doing yoga. I would recommend to rent it off Netflix (or where ever) just in case. Some may not like it.

I may try level 2 tomorrow.

I can't seem to find this DVD. Not at WalMart, Target, or even Sport Chalet. Where can I find it? (i'm not big on ordering things online)

I've done both levels once. It's funny you should mention the crow pose, BlacKandi, because I remember doing this ALL THE TIME as a child! Now I can't do it at all. It hurts my arms/elbows to try and rest my knees on them. Am I doing it right? That's what I used to do anyhow.

I got Yoga Meltdown in the mail today via Netflix. I'm going to try it out tomorrow. I watched the preview that was posted on here and it looks really good. I was a bit apprehensive because Jillian is known to not like yoga very much or be very flexible. But this workout looks very promising. I can't wait to try it and report back :)

I started this discussion for those who want to talk about about everything Yoga Meltdown and provide support for it with everyone's help. OK so a lot of us here have never tried out Yoga before and we're now doing it with Jillian for the first time.

Anyhooo...I've been doing Yoga in February up until now and I've been trying to get that "crow pose" down the entire time. I am still not able to hold it.

My question is...who has it down? Who finds it easy? How far can you get up into the pose? Have you even attempted it??

For me...I'm at the point where I can get my knees up on my forearms and tap my toes together and then I fall down on the floor. It's not a long fall, but I I'm OK with the falling. I think that in about another month I should have it down since I try to do this pose everyday because it bothers me that I can't do it! Ha!
